Diet and supplements.

My doctor has me on homeopathy as my sole treatment and he is addressing areas where I was deficient such as B vitamins and Magnesium.

Throughout my treatment, even during extreme herxing, I felt very strong internally and had great energy.

Homeopathy works by supporting your immune system. Abx are damaging to the immune system.

I hope this helps to give you options.

Well, there's Transfer Factor, or Xango for starters. Some of the mushrooms are supposed to boost immunity....but I'm not well-versed in that, so I don't know which ones do what.

I have the same problem with low immunity and have gotten a lot of help through acupuncture and Chinese herbs.

She actually told me today I was taking too many detox baths and leeching some good things, in addition to the toxins. She then gave me some herbs which she said could help boost my system again.

Sometimes, as Luvs has written, another perspective can be invaluable. I get so caught up sometimes in each symptoms and all the nasty details and have no good overview.

And today I learned that I can be doing something harmful when I'm actually trying to achieve the opposite result.

Do some research on a new product called "Natural Cellular Defense"

http://my.waiora.com/products/item26000-NCD.php

This was discussed as possibly the most exciting new product of the year at the Dr. K conference last weekend.

We are using Immpower which is a maitake and reishi mushroom extract. There's a tremendous amount of research on this. Also, there's a product called Biomune which is a colostrum etc. compound. My son, Jordan, used both very successfully. I have only been taking it for several months and just got the NK cell test done.
________________________________

ImmPower (AHCC) by American Biosciences

ImmPower is Active Hexose Correlated Compound (AHCC), developed by combining several species of mushrooms used in traditional Japanese healing to make one, extremely powerful, hybridized mushroom. This hybridized mushroom is grown in a liquid medium containing rice bran and enzymatically modified to be readily absorbable.

10 published articles in peer-reviewed journals show that taking ImmPower, AHCC:

* Significantly enhances Natural Killer Cell Function (by up to 300% and more)
* Supports Enhanced Cytokine Production
* Promotes Optimal T-Cell and Macrophage Activity
* Increases interferon levels

Research - ImmPower (AHCC) has more quality research than any other natural immune enhancing supplement. Over 15 years of research has provided 10 published studies including over 200 human participants.

Multi-Site Clinical Studies - Human Clinical Studies with ImmPower (AHCC) from Japan and the United States at various research facilities with medical doctors having no financial interest in the products success have confirmed its effectiveness.

I used Biomune for years and finally stopped. I think there are better products out there. AG Immune, possibly Natural Cellular Defense, etc. I am also likely to dump my transfer factor product as soon as I run out as I am just not convinced it is all that useful for Lyme and co-infections.

Scott,
Have you had NK tests re-done after using any of these products? I am only basing my thoughts on the fact that Jordan got well in an amazingly short period of time. He has been off abx for over 6 months and appears to be doing beautifully - lots of energy, clear head etc. etc. This is after having been very sick for many years.

Light regular exercise and a good diet (whole, fresh foods, not the processed crap in cans and boxes) will go a long way to boosting immunity.

Scott,

I asked my ND who follows some of Klinghardt's work for something for detoxing after 10 months of abx-he tried about a zillion things with ART and the natural cellular defense is the one that my body said yes too. Haven't started yet but I am glad to see it is something that is proving to be of interest.

I have had some NK cell tests done but have not seen significant benefit from the transfer factor products. For one, they don't contain transfer factors for most, if any, of the Lyme related infections.

Don't forget Acidophilus, Vitamin C and Vitamin A.

Take a break each month from abx. Herbal protocol works the opposite of abx and doesn't deplete your immune system, but rather BUILDS IT UP.

Nothing works better than our own immune system for fighting the bugs, so why not make it stronger, instead of killing it?

THAT is one of the main reasons many MD's won't go longer than a month on abx. However, abx are important in Lyme and coinfections, to kill off the overload, so Herbs can work easier and FASTER.

Just MO.

Here is an abstract on research done on the immune stimulating effects of frankincense essential oil. The oils are used externally after being diluted in another base oil.

Chemistry and immunomodulatory activity of frankincense oil.

Mikhaeil BR, Maatooq GT, Badria FA, Amer MM.

Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University, Mansoura 35516, Egypt. [email protected]

The yield of steam distillation of frankincense essential oil (3%); and its physicochemical constants were determined. Capillary GC/MS technique was used for the analysis of the oil. Several oil components were identified based upon comparison of their mass spectral data with those of reference compounds published in literature or stored in a computer library. The oil was found to contain monoterpenes (13.1%), sesquiterpenes (1%), and diterpenes (42.5%). The major components of the oil were duva-3,9,13-trien-1,5alpha-diol-1-acetate (21.4%), octyl acetate (13.4%), o-methyl anisole (7.6%), naphthalene decahydro-1,1,4a-trimethyl-6-methylene-5-(3-methyl-2-pentenyl) (5.7%), thunbergol (4.1%), phenanthrene-7-ethenyl-1,2,3,4,4a,5,6,7,8,9,10,10a-dodecahydro-1,1,4a,7-tetramethyl (4.1%), alpha-pinene (3.1%), sclarene (2.9%), 9-cis-retinal (2.8%), octyl formate (1.4%), verticiol (1.2%) decyl acetate (1.2%), n-octanol (1.1%). The chemical profile of the oil is considered as a chemotaxonomical marker that confirmed the botanical and geographical source of the resin. Biologically, the oil exhibited a strong immunostimulant activity (90% lymphocyte transformation) when assessed by a lymphocyte proliferation assay.

Coconut Oil.... COCONUT OIL.... virgin is best, but any food rated will do... Eggs cooked in coconut oil are really good for you.... You will slowly loose weight as coconut oil raises your energy levels..

Most important: Get rid of vegetable cooking oils. they are poison.... They contain high levels of nasty transfats...

Never use diet drinks or foods... Most contain Aspartame and it is a nasty poison, especially when heated (for example Diet sodas kept in a hot warehouse)...

Avoid SOY products. Hard to do as many foods use soy oil as a substitue for natural oils such as Mayo and peanut butter... Soy messes up the thyroid and other things in the body....
