(Thanks for the private message liz, very helpful--I tried to email you back--but you're email is full. I want to ask more q's)
I am feeling very alone with my symptoms--it's terrifying. I've been ill over 11 years w/o diagnosis. I have a glue feeling in my brain. Does anyone have this???-- **Sometimes the glue pressure is going downward through my spine (Maybe I am pushing everything into the central nervous system. As long as i can get the load down maybe it doesn't matter??) **Sometimes it is shooting up like a fountain into my head, and head feels like it will explode and I will pass out.
I've not been doing very well. The herx from Rocephin put me in the ER with panic attack--blood pressure up to 170 over something. pulse 110. Biaxin put me in the ER as well.
Now if I take anything--herbs, etc., the panic starts. And head feels like it will explode often. i wonder if it is the herx? Has anyone heard of this? I need to get these toxins out--trying unda remedies (homeopathic). It's making me go to the bathroom more (sorry for sharing) which is good. But they are affecting my thyroid--my dose needs to be decreased--heart beats too fast. all of this is too scary.

Jennifer, I understand exactly the feeling you describe. There is certainly a "fine line" when it comes to knowing when to go to the ER when the herxing causes the blood pressure to excel and heart rate to skyrocket. I'v been there several times during herxing over the past 3 months.
The way you describe your feelings in the head, brain and spine sounds exactly like what I've experienced and thought many times I wouldn't live through it.
I never went to the ER and would like to know what, if anything the attending physcians did to help you through it, or did they even understand what you were going through.
Would like to hear from you regarding your experience. Hope you get past this nightmare, just hold on, I promise it will pass.
I've noticed the herxing is getting lighter with each new one. Perhaps, this will give you some relief in just knowing it will get better with time.
Thank you, Gaye

Herxing is a royal pain. My son went through months of it. The ER doc's knew us on a first name basis. After a while, it seems you know your body and the herx's well enough, to know when it's problematic and when it's not.
Hang in there Jennifer, better days are ahead for you.

Thanks everyone. The ER docs--the first time after taking Biaxin, I was slurring and freaking out, thought I would have a stroke. I was given Valium. AFter about 7 hrs, the Biaxin must have worn off and I felt better. The first doctor was extremely nasty--he said, you look fine. The second doc was a bit more respectful, but that was only after family members showed up. He actually said that it could be a herxheimer or side effect of the medication. But the neurologist did his stupid neuro test and told me that I DID NOT have neurological lyme. They gave me a CT scan. They wouldn't give me one pill of Valium to go home with.
2nd time in ER with high blood pressure. The blood pressure had dropped a bit while I was there (I drank some ozone water--maybe that helped). But by the time I left, I still had high pulse rate. can't remember what blood pressure was. The doc just asked about tick bites, and why I went to see such and such Lyme specialist. He did the neuro test on me but didn't say anything. I explained to them it could be a panic attack or autonomic nervous system dysfunction. They didn't give me any meds. The docs were really in the dark...and had that nasty edge. I am talking to my neighbor who is on a community board committee here--I am getting someone to speak at the meeting about Lyme as there are reps from 2 NYC hospitals who attend.
