It has been 8 days since starting my IV abx and I am off to see my local PCP to see if I have an infection (cold or flu) at the request of my LLMD who is not local to me.

Lots of sickness hit me last Friday evening (4 days after starting abx) with night sweats, chest congestion, cough, headach...

Since my LLMD is not local I am going to see my local PCP to try and see what I may have. Lucky for me, at least I am feeling better today, just a little cough, mild headach, still lots of hot flashes/night sweats.

I know people have had flu symptoms after starting abx, but what about the chest cold type symptoms (congestion, runny nose, cough,)?

Sounds to me like you might have a virus. Of course, I am not a dr.

After my first month on abx, my bloodwork showed that I had had pnuemonia and salmonella recently.

I thought I was just herxing and really sick with lyme; which I was...I was really exhausted and moving in slow-mo.

All's to say, it can be hard to tell what is going on when health is at such a low.

Things have gotton a lot better!

Best Wishes,

Char

Detox reactions can come in all sorts of strange ways. Sadly, the problem for all of us is you don't know most of the time if a worsening of symptoms is a herx or if it is a setback.

You should also consider Babesia if you have night sweats.
