I feel very uncomfortable sometime at my left side, so I asked my doctor to give me a cat scan. This is what they found: "there is a mild circumferential bowel wall thickening of the distal descending colon which may represent the sequelae of previous diverticulitis, but teh possibility of a more ominous etilogy cannot be entirely excluded. The abnormality extends over approximately an 8.0 cm segment of bowel. In addition, there is thickening of the appendix as best seen on images no. 61 and 62. However, there is no periappendiceal inflammation. This may represent chronic inflamation. Please correlate clinically. No abnormal masses or fluid collections are seen. ..." Questions: 1. Am I going to have serious colon problem? Colon cancer? 2. My wife is a lyme disease victim, and I tested myself, although negative, but the doctor told me "lymish". And I have not taken any treatment. Is this any relation with lyme?
I am making an appointment to see a doctor.

I have had severe colon issues my entire life. Pain in left side, impactions showing up on X-rays.... It may or may not have been related to Lyme. But I found something that really helped me.
I did a colon cleanse using Dr. Schulze products (http://www.herbdoc.com) and that basically got rid of most of my colon issues I had been having my whole life. It was truly amazing.
I really wanted to respond to your post because I think that colon issues are a huge barrier to the body's ability to handle toxicity (i.e. from Lyme) and that many doctors will try to talk you into surgery when these problems can be cleared up through cleansing/flushing. So that's just what worked for me.
Cheers,
Alison

To be sure get colonoscopy and biopsy if needed.
But it can be just another manifestation of Lyme. Lyme is sometimes causing something similiar to Crohn's disease that you have.

This was one of my first symptoms when lyme and coinfections were at their worst...lower left quadrant pain in the abdomen...it would get the worst at 4 a.m. in the morning and wake me up.

this lower left quadrant pain just started for me. I get this painful twinge like something inside me is being pinched. A few minutes later I have to use the bathroom. My lower back hurts too.

Hi Mike.
Congratulations on getting your doctor's cooperation and getting him to listen to your concerns! Good for you.
Now, it's probably nothing, but I would definitely book an appointment with a colorectal specialist and get a colonoscopy done right away.
I had one done in November, because my mother has a very aggressive type of colon cancer and because I had some worrisome symptoms.
I was scared shirtless, of course! However, I'm happy to report that it was easier than getting a tooth filled. Ask for 'conscious sedation' -- Demerol + Versed. You will really have zero awareness that anything is even being done!
Drinking the prep the day before is a pain (or I should say, a 'drain' !! --); otherwise, the rest of the procedure is nothing to be worked up about.
Don't settle for a sigmoid scope or any lesser procedure which only visualizes part of the colon.
I had a sessile polyp which was removed and biopsied and thankfully not cancerous (YET!)... Also, mild diverticulosis.
Be as thorough as possible and don't worry - the colonoscopy is a piece of cake. I would've stressed a LOT less if I had known how easy it was.

I do highly recommend a colon cleanse once you get things checked out. It can help immensely. I am in the process of doing one this week.
I'll keep you in prayer. Keep us posted, OK?
What colon cleanse are you doing?

What colon cleanse are you doing? [/QB][/QUOTE] The brand is "Country Doctor". I bought it from my chiropractor. They have a website, but I can't find it on the bottle. I know I found the site before. Our chiro's office is closed today, but if you want more info, just PM me.

Look at the hundreds of testimonies and pictures of what comes out. This is not bogus. I experienced it first-hand.

The colon is the center for all waste and toxin elimination, as well as all nutrient intake, as well as the core generator for our immune system.
A cleanse once a year, whether it be a week or a month or three months might help some but isn't going to take care of a sick colon.. (and most modern American's colon's are sick)
HOWEVER.. cleaning up and caring for your eliminative organs can cure many systemic ailments.
Rather than getting too focused or hung up on looking at what is in there now (since you already know you have a problem), I would study proper cleansing, it is a process to follow carefully.. and also RIGHT eating (for good digestion and to avoid falling back into a state of acidosis) We get sick with allot of other things when the body is in a state of acidosis. That's where the disease process usually begins.
..rather than letting the Docs scare you and suggest things that will not solve the problem.. or possobly make it worse..
I would study up on digestion and colon health, and have at this from the inside out. The body is fully equipped and able to clear out everything bad and process good foods for our bodies to utilize.. it just needs to be cleaned and fed healthily so it can do it's job. Cleansed (after colon, liver and kidneys, plus parasites need to be taken care of) and also of great inmportance is to restore and feed good, live probiotics daily.
Colon clogged = liver clogged = gall bladder backed up = pancreas clogged = syomach malfunctioning = blood trapped and dirty = lymphatic sytem clogged = tissue holding toxins = cells not being cleansed or nourished properly.
Most bloat or body fat/cellulite is due to improper digestion. (tho - you can also be thin and have big trouble in this area) When this goes on for years .. the walls of the 40 feet of colon and all the little pockets and diverticulli are caked in debris. (and then follows the blood arteries)
You wouldn't drive a car in which you never changed the oil, right?
If you're not going three times a day..once for each meal, and of good size and consistancy.. you are constipated. That means there is waste in there from days or weeks or months even years ago that is not being expelled.
It's totally within your own power to correct this and much more, but you have to change the way you relate to food and also have to commit to initial cleansing..
I've been at this over a year and I still have more to go before I am just on 'maintainance'.
I can post some writings here when I find them...
Blessings, Mo

Mo,
So what do you recommend doing as far as cleansing goes?
I'm in bad shape stomach-wise.
Lower left pain, constipation, bloating. I know food is rotting in my gut.
I do everything I can possibly imagine (enzymes, probiotics, Schulze #1(cascara, senna), charcoal, etc etc)
I'm starting water enemas soon and hope those aren't contraindicated in diverticulitis cases.
PS: I think Bart is behind this all

cane,
If you increase your salt/c it should take care of your constipation. If you just do higher doses of Vitamin C beyond bowel tolerance it will also clean out your g. I. track as well as get rid of the dead and dying parasites.

The Vit C can help clean out the gut? That'd be awesome!
Can't an enema help?
I'm afraid of the bulge sticking out on left side (it's not big) but it's very hernia-like.
Bartonella is my nemesis : ( It's sad but at time I feel like I'm withering away. Every month it's something new (and usually worse) grrrr

cane,
You have to do high doses of vitamin C. The sea salt also acts like an enema. If you are taking the powder vitamin C, just keep drinking it until you get diarrhea and it makes you go.
You can also google vitamin c flushes and sea salt enemas. My bart is clearing with the use of the antiparasitic herbs.
I have felt like you in the past and I know it is rough, but if you get your bowels moving you will feel so much better.

You're right - and you've been right for awhile now : )
I know this is a redundant question... But exactly which Vit C powder form do you take?
Also - many people have reported great success combining Rife & Salt/C protocols.
But I wanna ask you gael (because Rifers don't want to put borrelia into cyst form)
In your experience on salt/c do you think it drives Lyme into cysts? (like abx's, many herbs, etc)
I saw a strange pattern when researching Rife and salt/C and that was that both rifers and salt/c'ers have very similar herx timetables and experience (such as symptoms going in reverse order as one heals)
Would love to hear some thoughts on this

I have to agree with Randi on this one.. I really wanted to do the Salt/C but felt my blood pressure rising the same day I started and I didn't do that high of a dose.

cane,
I don't know about salt/c driving lyme into cyst form. I suppose different protocols attacking the ketes could drive it into cyst form because they are being attacked.
I try and keep it simple, stay focused on what I know is a big problem, and that is getting rid of the parasites. I do think that the salt/c can break up the cysts as well.
For the people worried about blood pressure problems, starting at a very low dose and going slowly shouldn't be a problem.
High blood pressure can be indicative of the infection as the cause. Low dose meaning 1/8 of a tsp shouldn't be a problem. Abx can raise your blood pressure also because they are going after the infection.
