During my first year and a half of treatment, I just felt bad all the time. When I switched to Tetracycline, I finally herxed. I was then treated for Babs and got a lot better. I started having herxes in cycles for the first time.
I continue to work and have a pretty high pressure job requiring overtime about once a month. I definitely work my medication so that there's no way I'll be herxing during planned overtime.
I'll never take Bicillin IM since there's no way you can "control" herxing with it. It's in your system and that's it.
So, I guess the answer is, yes. With the right medication, you'll herx throughout treatment. I've learned that I can stop and start meds at short intervals to allow myself to still have a life.
Take care,
Corgilla
