I have this since at least 37 years. Despite lots of painful exams they never found the reason why.
I think in my case it's Lyme or Babs related. Don't know if I have Babs, though.

I think you said your on ceftin? Well when I was on that one I had the most severe yeast problem by not taking enough acidophilis and made a mistake of having a regular soda pop.
You may have this yeast problem further up your urinary tract than I did. Make no mistake yeast can eat away the protective linings.

Interesting Tree- most of my problems started after my one week of taking cedax (same family as ceftin)
big lenny- was a culture done or just one of those dip stick tests. The dip stick test showed i had traces of blood and nitrates....but when the culture/urinalysis came back it showed niether. If this wasnt sent out to the lab i would probably go back and see if they can order a urinalysis/culture.

My Dad has this every couple of years--a lot. I too think it is Babesia. but Dad doesn't believe in Lyme disease...

Lenny, I have had hematuria (trace blood in urine) on and off for years. Is this something new for you? Some people have the condition and a cause is never found.
Mine was hereditary from my grandmother. However, I wouldn't doubt if Lyme had something to do with it along with my irritable bladder (which they never found a cause for)!
Have the test done again in a few weeks to see if you get the same result. As we know, tests are done at a point in time and I wouldn't think anything of it unless the result was the same more than once for something like hematuria.
It could be a slight urinary infection...or just about anything...that could go away on its own.
