I had one lyme titer test positive using local lab.

I had two western blot tests, performed by two different labs, tests were negative (not IGENEX).

Next week I am going to an LLMD who uses IGENEX testing.

Is IGENEX that different from the two other western blot tests?

Anyone else test negative with local labs for western blot but test positive using IGENEX?

Thanks!

Good question that I would also like the answer to.

I tested CDC positive for at least five bands on the IgM with IGenex and positive for Bart (maybe Babs) with IGenex.

However, I tested negative for IgM and all co-infections on my PCR test at Medical Diagnostics Labs.

What do I believe???

I tested CDC positive for Lyme at Igenex. Negative for all coinfections.

Tested CDC negative for Lyme at MDL Labs 2x's but positive for babesia 1x.

My husband tested positive for Lyme and Babs through MDL LABS.

MDL Labs is a very good lab. They also take all insurance. Igenex can get pretty pricey especially if it is all out of pocket. Which it is for me and my husband.

If I was rich I would use Igenex more often. I think they test for alot of different strains of BB.

So if you can use both labs.

Land, this is a question asked often on here. Perhaps if you use search; which is best IGENEX, MDL, or Bowen, you might find a wide array of answers.

ME - I tested neg. on elisa; I insisted on western blot thru IGENEX, and both came back POSITIVE; had no tests done for co-infections.

Then local clinic had blood drawn again & sent to MAYO clinic which tested negative on 2 and neg. on 5 since they do NOT test for all 16 protein bands of lyme/strains.

Last fall had BOWEN test done for co-infections; negative & positive for lyme 1-64 .. can't remember but it was the 2nd highest no. they have!
