I suffer from shortness of breath. Do you have this? if so, what do you do about it to help? It's driving me nuts.

thanks,
Cutie

I would seriously research and potentially treat Babesia.

I was tested for erlichia, babesia and bartonella at the same time as lyme and they all came back negative.

These tests are very unreliable. You should be treated based upon symptomology and not rely on testing.

Labored breathing is definitely a sign of babesia. I'm curious, do you exhibit chest pain, sweats/chills ?

Negative tests mean zip, nadda, nothing.... They can test for 2 of 17 types of Babesia. So your odds of a positive test are low.

Cutie, I suffer from this too plus stuffed up nose full-time with nothing coming out of nose!

SOB can be heart related as well as lungs.

Lately can hold my breath only 5 seconda! It's a real effort.

I take it real easy; not getting up fast, etc.

Wow this lyme stuff keeps getting more and more confusing. Lucky me to be diagnosed with this.

I wasn't aware there were so many kinds of babesia! What is the treatment for this as opposed to lyme?

I have had heart and lungs checked out and all were fine. Just like all other tests on my journey to the lyme diagnosis.

Try doing a search with "air hunger" as a subject.
You'll find quite a few threads on the subject.

Mycoplasma pneumonia is often a culprit.

Had shortness of breath for two years off and on...miserable stuff...got tested for babesia using IgeneX's FISH test and I have kicked that symptom to the curb - thank goodness.

I would definitely run that test if I were you...hope you resolve it soon....I know it is no fun at all...

I found that 2 different things helped me with shortness of breath. I had what seemed to be 2 different kinds of shortness of breath. One was more of an airhunger.....never seeming to be able to take a deep enough breath, sighing......the feeling you weren't getting enough oxygen. This would happen even while just sitting. I would be so short of breath that i couldn't even read outloud. This seemed to be more of the babesia.

Then I had the other kind of shortness of breath where I had to pull myself up stairs or rest 10 times walking up my not very steep driveway. My heart would beat so fast and it would feel that my heart wasn't getting enough oxygen. My Lyme literate doc tested me for thyroid . I was borderline low so he treated me. That improved my shortness of breath immensely. He later tested me for Hashimoto's disease and I had the autoantibodies. I had been suffering from this shortness of breath for about 13 years. My regular lyme doc and pcp never thought twice about a borderline low test. What a relief. I also don't have to lie down half as much during the day. I used to be so weak that some days I would have to lie down every 15 min.
