I wish I had better news to give you. Lida is DEFINITELY Retired! I know it's inevitable, it's just hard to hear the words & to actually accept the closure & turn the page...
Lida was Dr.P's Mentor; she researched Lyme, Culturing, L-Forms, etc. for over 5 Decades & was nominated for the Nobel Prize in 1997.
Lida was considered by some to be one of the Greatest Scientists in the World...we Lymies have lost a H--U--G--E part of ourselves, our science, & our support...this Lady is Truly ONE OF A KIND!!
Funny thing, she called me years ago to talk about Mom's & my Blood Cultures & we ended up talking about Shelby Township, MI (where my Dad lives) & her Office, the areas around Detroit, &, most importantly, what herbs she gave her daughter for Lyme! I'll have to rummage through my old notes.
How is your Lyme & how long have you had it?

Lida's retiring?!?!?!!!
We have lost a lot, though I would never begrudge her that. Same goes for Dr. J, should he choose to retire, and I told him so.
Has she been able to raise up good people to carry on her work?
Regards, Shaz

I'll ask Dr.P during my appt. Anyone who's not personally involved lacks the PASSION...that's what makes the RARE FEW!
There is another Scientist in Detroit who trained under Lida, but Lyme isn't his concentration.
where have our heroes gone? It just appears that few are stepping up to the plate in this VERY controversial field &, those that do, lack a true understanding of Lyme It's Sad...very sad~
