Jon Bon Jovi owns an Arena Sports Team in Philly, lives in NJ, another Lyme Hot-Bed, & has a Heart of Gold! He was on Oprah for the whole hour & makes solo appearances to "give back to the community". I was 15 in 1985 when Bon Jovi released their 1st song...We ALL grew up with their music...it just gives you a warm feeling in all we're going through!! A friend use to apply his make-up for high-school plays & said how shy he was. Wow!
Did anyone try contacting Jon Bon Jovi?

I'm just saying that possibly he'd be willing to or interested in helping our Lyme cause.
What do you think? Has anyone considered contacting the band?

Sometimes the "medical" forum is the only one people read!
Has BonJovi showed an interest in Lyme before? Whatever happened to Darryl Hall? Is he becomming an activist or not??

It's my life, it's now or never...
OK, digressing a bit here but:
Clearly, we need a high profile celeb and/or zillionaire to be personaliy effected by this dreadful disease. When they find out how disgraceful the medical dillema is and how antiquated the science is, they may want to use their resources to do something about it.
We need a Michael J. Fox style effort and comittment to get the ball rolling.

If you want to know if Bon Jovi might be interested in supporting the Lyme community, contact him.
It's the only way you are going to find out.

I know that Darryl Hall has Lyme. Why isn't he taking a more active role?? Isnt there a way to contact him and ask him to push harder with this issue too?

Look, posting messages which say, "Let's contact so and so" aren't going to do a bit of good.
Instead of making these kinds of posts, try to figure it out yourself. These are not mystery people. They have publicists. They probably have web sites. Buy a CD and figure out who their record label is. Then contact them. Then post the information here so others can do the same.
I have seen so many threads like this. Nothing comes of them.
DO something.

The best I can suggest is for you to contact Bon Jovi management and express your request regarding the dance marathon.
Address details as follows:
BJ Management 809 Elder Circle Austin, TX 78733-3423 USA
I sincerely wish you and Rutgers University well in this endeavour.

JBJ does get involved with worthy charities. Look what he's done for inner city PA. That said, he owns an arena f-ball team there so this is a give-back.
Celebs usually need a catalyst to get involved. That said, if your deem worthwhile, write the celebs' publicist. Only costs a stamp and some of your time.

On the Hall and Oats wensite: he has a section called Darryl's Ticknology: He has amessage for all of us with lyme and links to Sotheastern Pa Lyme support group that puts out the info book and other links to Lyme Important Sites.
On Jon Bon Jovi: Don't have any info yet- will scout around for some ideals.
oh, yes Darryl was on Inside Edition the past two weeks too. I ddidn't see it, but think he just started to scratch the tip of the iceberg.

Foggy, That's PRECISELY why I feel that JBJ may possibly be interested in our cause. He's given so much back & has done so much good!!
Out of any celebrity, you feel DRAWN TO HIM & that S-M-I-L-E is magnetic!
That's why I posted this under Medical Questions. I had just spoken to Dr.P's office that afternoon & learned about Lida's Retirement! I don't know about you, but that news TERRIFIED me! Nothing's getting done...WE NEED TO CALL IN THE B-I-G GUNS~ 1.) Dr.B 2.) Dr.J 3.) Lida's Retirement & SHE, too, was targetted years ago!
What about our K-I-D-S!?!? Jon LOVES Children & would hate to hear of their plight!!
Let's get our heads together...it's GREAT we're exchanging ideas!
In closing, I feel Jon would make a H-U-G-E impact because of his staying power! Oprah said it herself. He's been here for 20 years! He has CREDIBILITY & SINCERITY...people just "downright like him"!
