its been a long road but my 17 yr old son now has his own real lyme dr, its taken almost 3 yrs and we are PARTYING. After seeing so many drs that didnt know what to do with this kid its like a huge weight lifted and I am going to actualy sleep and not have nightmares tonight, havent had a good nights rest in so long I cant tell you. Im paying cash I dont have but its so well spent I will sell my own blood, body and soul to make sure he is able to stay with this dr, hes an angel with a Drs title. He took 1 look at my son and was amazed at how none of the other drs wouldnt or couldnt help him all this time. My son was 160 pnds and going pro bmx now hes 118pnds and cant stand up. Hes in so much pain he cant eat, sleep or think and he just gets worse and worse. He is now on day 8 of iv ceftriaxone and altho hour by hour hes getting worse we know its a good thing and he know has the right meds for pain, sleep, anxiety and hopefully some weight gain and he also has a wheel chair to get out of the house with. We know we have a long twisted road ahead of us but he will now make it. If anyone is in need of a dr in the ny nj pa area i will be glad to share our angels info......

So wonderful to be with someone you trust and who validates what you know to be true. I can imagine/feel the panic you must have had as you watched your son become so sick.

This is great news!

Tina, HOORAY; welcome to the board!

Before I forget, please go to seeking drs. area, and check for NY NJ PA area needing drs. People post needing this info all the time, so please check there so your angel can help them too! THANKS.

Tina, as you may have noticed; I broke up your long continuous story into short paragraphs of 6-8 lines of text and DOUBLE spaced ALL. This is needed for us neuro lymie who can't read or comprehend as is ok.

Please do this in the future; hit enter more. Thank you Tina.

Welcome to this 24/7 LYME support group board!

Here's TREEPATROL's and tincup's combination newbie links.

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/
029917.html

Print off the links then check them off as you read as you could spend
several months reading all of this.

print & read Dr. Barrascono's 2005 info first; you will come back to this
often.

Extensive info in Treepatrol's newbie links about the meaning of WESTERN BLOT IGM/IGG test results from Igenex! Be sure to read or print this info IF Igenex tested you ok!

Also, see Cheryl's extensive web sites on: LD DIAGNOSIS, SYMPTOMS, & TREATMENT ... wonderful! Read the area on CO-INFECTIONS! You could have from 1-12 other illnesses that tick is carrying...lyme, malaria, etc.

If you are showing symptoms of co-infections, I would like to suggest being tested for co-infections when you have LYME western blots done. It isn't cheap!! But if you are positive, you can treat the co-infections first, and then work on LYME symptoms.

from LOU to Betty on LONG web links and Thank You Lou!:

"If you hit the return key in the middle of a link, I don't think it will be clickable anymore. An alternative that maybe Betty should be telling people about is the tiny url website. I have it on my tool bar at the top of the page and use it for those incredablylongwebsiteaddresses.

All you have to do is ask tiny url to produce a short version, which it will do with a unique address, which you then use instead in your post. Works just the same when clicked! Here is the website, spread the word!

hey Tina-ny

Thats great that you found someone to help your son.!

Good luck with his treatment and hope he is feeling better soon.

It may be a long and hard road back, but with the right treatment he will do great.

Really... Read ALL the newbie links. There is alot of helpful information there.

And use the search button for all its worth, as this site contains a wealth of collective wisdom from many who have been in the lyme trench's for years.

Take care and blessings to your son and your family [group hug]
