I've tried everything: massages of all types, acupuncture, homeopathic remedies, phyiscal therapy and I still have constant neck spasms. Klonopin helps somewhat. The only time my spasms went away was when I was pregnant. I going back to Dr. B but in the mean time I am really getting down.

Have you tried Magnesium injections 2-3x a week? In addition, take Mag Tab SR supplements 2 2x a day?

Hey Wild....Could you post some info on the Mg shots? Where do you get the Mg? How much does it cost? I'd like to ask Dr C about trying it.

Pini,
I'm copying this from another post I just wrote. I have very stiff muscles in my neck and back if I don't take a muscle relaxer.
I found this stiffness and pain controllable with a muscle relaxer. I take Flexeril every night. I started with 5mg a night, and increased by 5 every week until I reached 30mg, the maximum dosage. It was a huge difference.
I've since dropped back, but will probably increase again.
Flexeril does cause fatigue. You get used to it, especially if you start low. But I do really need to sleep a minimum of 8 hours most nights, ideally 9.

Thank you for the responses. I did try muscle relaxers and they really did not help. I glad they help others. The benzo drugs are the only ones that seem to help but they are very addicting. I bought some Calmax at the store and I'll see if the calcium/magnesium works.

pini,
Did you try muscle relaxers daily for a minimum of a few weeks? Just checking, because it took a few weeks and getting up to a high dose for flexeril to work for me.
Also, have you tried birth control or other hormone therapies? Since you said the spasms stopped when you were pregnant.
I wish you luck.
