Heres what I do know: If you are over 18 and have less than a 90 day supply of ABX's,they are otherwise unregulated and the Mex. authorities could care less. Heres what I dont know: When you inform the American authorities(in certain cases) of your purchase, what do they typicaly say or do? if there is anyone with first or secondhand experiance,I would like to know. Thanks Alan

I get the impression the US customs at the border generally don't care about personal antibiotics either. They are much more concerned with people smuggling narcotics. But- what you can do to cover all bases is see a doctor in Mexico and get an rx for it. That way you are covered all around. Ask at the pharmacies or friends in Mexico for a recommendation and maybe bring copies of some of your US medical records and explain what protocols you're on and may be on in the future.
If you have a doctor in Mexico and have seen a reliable pharmacy there also you may be able to get another rx by phone and mail as well. If the rx is mailed in with the order it is clearly legal. Would probley pay for itself in gas prices.

A member of this forum whose screen name is groovey recently did this. If he doesn't come along soon and answer, you might search for his recent posts on the subject or send him a private message, or both.

They want to see all your purchases when you go thru, you have no choice.....and they ask if you are an American citizen.
If your purchases are non-narcotic, non controlled substances, as in most all antibiotics, you will have no problem.
If you are a young adult, that would be a red flag...if you are any person with a huge bag of drugs, that would be a red flag, if you are hiding your purchases, you get the point.
