wonder if anyone saw 7online news tonigh. seems like myseriously some kids came down with an illness they are labling ms. They said it was unusal for young kids to get MS
They don't know where the kids got it.
Didn't go into very many symptoms just thought wow, wondered if they were checked for lyme. or what tests were performed to have come to a conclusion of MS. It hit these kids out of no where and I know for a fact ticks have been active on the east coast due to the warm weather
Any ideas anyone.

It's under Dr. Adlerburg...I know i was diagnosed with ms/lyme..did betaseron injections and they didn't help. Hope these kids don't have to go through what most of us did and still do.
Some one wake up here...for our children's sake!

Oh boy, read that article and guess who is involved.....SUNY at Stony Brook, and Lauren Krupp, who should know something about Lyme. Of course, what she has published shows her to be a steerite and someone who produces whatever the funding group wants. You want no lyme, you get no lyme. You want ms (MS society), you get MS.
And I bet those kids are not even tested for lyme there, when that lab used to have one of the better lyme tests, but it was changed so that fewer positive results were produced. This was intentional.
This really stinks.
I don't say all those kids have Lyme, but some of them probably do and are not getting treated.

I was thinking that Stonybrook was a "duck" center, lou, thanks for clarifying.
So, we have a cluster of children getting an atypical disease for children in an area that is endemic for Lyme, and where Lyme disease would often fit the symptomology.
Hey, we could call it "Stonybrook MS."
Horrifying.

thanks for posting this info. I sent to Dr. P...he is passionate about this subject of MS misdiagnosis.
Do you think that the docs would rather people get MS because they understand it better? Or because it is cheaper to treat? Or because when a patient goes on steroid they feel so good and stop complaining...when they go on abx, they get worse (herx)..?
Or maybe in the rush to make the diagnosis, MS is more socially acceptable?
I heard that the incedence of MS is highest in areas that are lyme endemic!! Makes sense this is Long Island...right near plum island...
