has there ever been anything pointing to the superiority of either? or the effectiveness of high dose minocycline?
i used to take minocycline for acne and recall it being much (MUCH) easier on the stomach.
plus i'm asking this in light of it's ability to be active in the brain with whatever that parkinson's study is really representing, and that so many people have doxy failures. has minocycline really been given a fair evaluation at high doses with people? Dr. B doesn't even have a dosage range recommended in his guidelines.

Mino is the med I take - but on-going low dose. It's what has worked for me over the years... I contracted Lyme in 1985, diagnosed about 5 years later... after being put through the wringer both physically, medically, emotionally - it was once suggested to me by a dr that I was having a hysterical reaction to the media... this after he'd received the 3rd postive test... but that's ancient history. Went through major intravenious antibotics - 45 days... then years of doxy and then on to mino.
I try to take care of myself - work out when I can, vitamins, etc. But. If I'm not taking the mino - my memory slips, words/sentences come out backwards, I'm exhausted, my joints ache, I've had facial paralysis - Bell's Palsy - 5 times... I turn into a blob. My adult kids are my barometers - they ask, are you taking the antibiotics? Then I get a refill and take the stuff for about 6 months.... then I go off for perhaps up to 3 months... then back on. It's not ideal and my fear is that someday someone will say no - no more for you.
I'm new to this site and I am looking forward to finding the CURE! Meantime, the mino has saved me. Good luck. D.
