My husband finally visited an LLMD today! She was
Great!

He was prescribed Topamax (25mg 1x day) for the migrains,
Lyrica (7mg 1x day) for nerve block, Biaxin XL (antibiotic - 2x day), Amoxicillin (500mg 2x day) and on his fourth week he is to take flagyl (500mg 1x day).

Anyone have any comments or experiences with these
meds that they can share? If so PM me.

Thanks for all that have been such a great help already.

Congratulations! I'm glad things went well! He'll need lots of support as he goes through this treatment. It can get very rough!

Sissy,

I'm so glad your husband was able to see a LLMD that you and he both felt good about.

I'm not well-versed on antibiotic protocol at all, but the one thing I wanted to say is that for me, starting slowly and gradually increasing my dosages has helped tremendously.

My LLMD initially had me on only Ceftin -- 500 mg once a day for a week, then up to 1000 mg for the second week. Each week it increased, until I was finally up to current dose of 2000 mg.

When I recently got a rx for rifampin (for Bartonella), we used that same gradual increase system. It helps me keep my herxes down a bit.

Anyone who's read my posts here can vouch for the fact that I'm no doctor, but this has been my experience.

Again, I'm really glad your husband is starting treatment; that's great!

Andie
