I am not sure if I have lyme, I am baffling...My symptoms are not worse, just muscle nerve draging pains and chest wall pains 4 times in a day and tolerable. I never had any vision problems or any other symptoms. But anyway I had seen one dr who ended up not an LLMD. So took appt with another dr...
I want to make sure I am dx correctly and treated correctly.. If I give Igenex blood work and suppose it comes negative , does it mean I don't have lyme for 100% sure, Atleast 99 %??
If anyone still be treated even if the ignex lyme tests come negative? If so how long the people are being treated? My lyme titer came negative and I have these symptoms going on for 2 1/2 months. Don't remember having any fever recently.

A negative Western Blot may be seen as negative by a doctor not well versed in the complexities of lyme testing; while another doctor may see the results as indicative of lyme. I was negative and after treatment produced a Western Blot which was positive by CDC standards.
The following was part of a post by Lymetoo in which her lyme doctor was explaining the interpretation of Western Blot:
"So they must be seeing something when they put "+/-" at some bands.
The only thing that makes sense, is that there is a little bit of that antibody present in your serum. If the "+/-" equivocal is reported on the borrelia associated bands, it is usually significant, in my clinical experience. This is a strong clue that I am on the right track.
Instead of ignoring these, they should be a red flag to keep pursuing a laboratory diagnosis. Giving patients 4 weeks of antibiotics (usually tetracycline, 500 mg, 3 times a day), will convert a negative or equivocal Western blot to positive in about 36% of cases."

My Igenex WB was negative, and I've been treated for over 2 years. However, I did have many equivocals and a few Lyme specific bands that were positive, as well as a + Babesia test. While the Igenex tests can be helpful, Lyme and the coinfections are really a clinical diagnosis.

My IGM was listed as IND by Ignex and CDC negative. Positive band 41 IND band 31. IGM had more positives 41 showed up again as did 66.
At my first LLMD visit i had a lot of symptoms. He clinically diagnosed me and was a bit shocked that this hit so quickly in me.
I was treated with one month of doxy could only handle 100mg. Then cedax for 4 days couldnt handle that. Then i went on diflucan for yeast and im back on cedax.
My worst herxing days so far were on the doxy. im on day 6 of Cedax at 400mg working up to 800mg.
My main horrible symptom is bladder pain/pressure.
I would suggest getting the Igenex test done and seeing what bands show up positive.

I would wait untill you have the apt. with the LLD you spoke about.
BTW. Many people with lyme don't get fever's They actually run sub normal.
Do a search here on western blot,there is a wealth of information. Have you been to the newbie links?
