HI all~

OK...so it's been a bad week. ER visit last Saturday for tachycardia.

Rash on abdomen on Wednesday. Got it biopsied on Thursday. (read: sore abdomen)

IM bicillin shot on Friday (which is a good thing) except it does leave me with a sore heiny. So now I have a sore heiny AND a sore abdomen.

Today I was very tired, so I laid down. Upon rising, I noticed my vision was quite blurred. I noticed that my right eye was fine, but my left eye was blurry.

I've had paper cut feeling on my eyeballs, floaters in my eyes, peripheral flashes of light, but NEVER blurred vision.

It seems to be getting better, but honestly, it's been a bad week...and I don't need more stuff going wrong.... [dizzy]

Anyone else get blurred vision? And if so, in just one eye???

UGH!

Timaca

I get it. I had it for a week in November. I couldn't tell if it was one eye or both though. I went and saw the neuro because I was so freaked out. I had another brain MRI and it was normal.

Just last week I had that happen, but with both eyes. I sat down at the computer, and I could read nothing. EVERYTHING was totally blurred. One eye was worse than the other, but both were bad. After about 3 hours it gradually got better.

This has been an on going problem for about 4 months. I went to the eye doc to get new scrip
(I wear bifocals), took to Pearle Vision. When they came in my vision was worse. I had them check to see if the lenses were switched, but they said no.....maybe it was the doctors mistake.

I still haven't been back (will soon), but still can't see worth a darn, and I don't think it's anybodys fault, I think my eyes are changing that rapidly. I am also having problems seeing out of the sides of my eyes, and forget about night driving.

I'm thinking it's just one of the sx of neuro-Lyme, and hopefully it will pass. Just like everything else.

Good Luck!
Jill

All this sounds totally familiar.

Only my right eye is affected. But not so much anymore as I'm getting better.

One thing I do to combat the blurred vision is to dip my face into hot water (~105F) and keep it in there for as long as possible. With a snorkel this can be quite a while.

The idea is that dipping the front of your head into hot water will heat up your eyes as well.

And as we know, Bb doesn't like high temps.

So this action just might kill some of the bugs or at least encourage them to leave the eye.

I also take an herb which supposedly enters the eye and kills Bb. I forgot what the name is, but if you're interested I'll look it up.

Things will get better! I had rt. eye blurred vision, under IVtherapy it has helped. It has passed. I rinsed eyes with salt water. I had the eye feel sliced like a paper cut but it also happened that inside corner of eye was hurting badly looked in mirror saw a super fine slice with a strange looking orange color tiny worm looking thing sitting there. It was after I woke up this was 2 months before I was being treated, was mucous like at that time didn't think to freeze it and send to lab was freaked out by it. At that time had no idea I had Lymes they didn't know what was happening!I was on oral tetracycline at the time for bad
sinus infection (now we know it was advanced Lymes.) Hope you feel better soon!

This is a very interesting thread. I flew to see my LLMD in CA twice last month. Both times, after I got off the plane I had double vision, but only in my right eye. My vision has been different ever since, blurry and off.

I've gone back to using an old pair of eyeglasses, and can see fine with them. Not close up, of course, but I have flip-up reading glasses that I clip on. I look weird, but they work great!

Warmly,
Elizabeth

According to Stephen Harrod Buhner's book "Healing Lyme", the most important herb for eye problems is Stephania Root (1/2 tsp tincture 3x daily and eye wash with decoction).

He also recommends Vincamine (20mg 3x daily), vitamin C (1000mg 3x daily) and Zinc (40mg daily).

I do all this, except Vincamine. Before I started the Stephania Root, I was already doing Vit-C and Zinc. But my eye problems didn't go away (still a little bit left though) before I started on the Stephania Root. Though, at the same time I also started dipping my face in hot water as well as taking other herbs.

But I do feel that Stephania had some impact.

I bought the Stephania powder from 1st chinese herbs in a 1lb bag. I then cook it up very quickly while stirring. Then dilute it and drink it three times a day.

hi timaca - this happened to me a few years ago - i had to put a patch over my right eye as it was so disorienting - i got into an eye md (was afraid of a detached retina) right away and he said all was normal!!! i did restart my b12 shots - i had been slacking off thinking they weren't doing anygood and a lot of it resolved at that time...i later saw a neuro-opthalmologist in sf and had alll kinds of tests - got his results and my igenex results the same week...

igenex said i was pos for babs, and the good doc said that fit the picture beautifully as i wasn't getting enough oxygen into the retina...he was surprised to hear that b12 helped....and ever since, i've been pretty regular on the b12 shots....
