My daughter has these bouts of walking around the house at night because she feels like her legs have to move. It is like she is driven and it is hard to stop. Has happened a couple of times and more recently.
It always happpens late when I am trying to give medicine and get her down.
She is sedentary all day and legs feel a little weird...she says she doesn't know why it starts up at night.
She hasn't been diagnosed with restless legs, is this what it can be like? or manicky?
She is so fatigued that it is quite strange and doesn't seem like manipulation.

Sounds like Restless Legs....but I'm no expert.
I have found my legs to jerk when trying to fall asleep whenever YEAST has reared its ugly head.
Could also be a Lyme symptom, I would think.

Magnesium and potassium.
Low yeast diet (i.e., no 'taters, etc.) might exacerbate this lack.
Check with your doctor first, a'course and maybe trying replacing with supplements. My mother has this really bad! Some people are really tortured by it.
Hope she finds some relief soon.

I have had unrelentless restless legs syndrome for about 6 years...so bad that I was recently on several Parkinson's drugs to quiet the impulses and jerking. It does get worse in the evening and at night, and can be almost like Chinese water torture jerking you awake every few minutes or even seconds. Sometimes I actually tried to lay ON my arms and legs so they would stop jerking. About 6 months after starting lyme treatment, the restless legs got better, and then it's gone! I am off all meds for RLS. It might be good to talk with your doc about the various supplements which have been mentioned which can be helpful (magnesium in particular). Good luck!

Thanks everybody,
Talked to our psych PA who is awesome. She said there is rx for this, but concerned to add one more med to the mix.
I have been afraid to give her B vitamins because I heard that they can interfere with sleep.
Ideas here?
Also, where do I get the sublingual or a smaller, easy to swallow pill?
Potassium dosage?
Magnesium dosage? She is taking 400mg. avoiding giving higher dose because of bad tummy.

RLS can also be caused by iron deficiency. You can check your daughter's ferritin level (a measure of iron stores). If it's less than 50 ng/mL, then taking iron supplement's with your doctor's instructions to raise it above that level may help her.
You can do an internet search on "RLS and Ferritin" or "RLS and Iron Deficiency" to get more info.
