I really think the abx are feeding the yeast.

i just dont have any other explanation of why the burning is back again. things had really calmed down........i thought i was healing.....and now i burn.

my western blot even by igenex is worthless....

even when i stick to the diet i get this....i went off of it and i got it too........

i wish they could just disect me an
d figure out what is wrong. [confused]

Ive been out of it all day....breathing problems, which i think is yeast symptoms....thirst, constant thirst. [dizzy]

i had green tea and the burning started after that, although i think it was building all day.

burning where? Skin? or inside. Sometimes when I get yeasty I burn like I am being microwaved from the inside out. Lyme does it too but yeast makes it worse. I feel for you, been there, there now.

Hey can't....check your PM. Remember caffeine will always make IC worse.

Did your urologist mention Elmiron? It really helped put my IC into remission.

Had the same terrible burning.

Low sugar cran juice, oral antibiotics and aloe vera did not fix until I took Pure Encapsulations Cranberry NS concentrated extract capsules (500 mg) two a day w/ plenty of water.

Avoid baths. Shower instead. If you go underwater urinate immediately afterwards. I hope this helps.

Some of the things which gave me some relief were (dont laugh), putting vaseline, olive or coconut oil down there. It soothed my skin. When i had the burning after urination, i would take a quick little shower to clean off down there and it would also help the irritation. Also, Natren makes something called Gynatren. Basically, its just probiotics you put inside the vagina. I REALLY got help from that.

I would stay away from cranberry. I drank that once and it killed my bladder. I dont know if pills would be safe or not.

Hang in there,

Jordan

i will never take anything cranberry again...it killed my bladder.

i think what happend is I didnt eat lunch yesterday because i was feeling sick..

si didnt have much in my system so the combo of the chocolate..vinegar chips and green tea...iritated me. didnt eat them all at once.

right now its the only explanation i have. this happend 2 other times with chocolate the 2nd day i ate it i flared up...but the first day i was ok.

my ph is 6.5 but i guess that is enough to cause the burning to the other areas.

Ive tried crisco before, i forgot about that last nite....and vitamin E works well too.

You're probably right:
The not eating, combined with the foods you did eat is probably what put you over the edge.

Be sure to drink LOTS of water too!!! That always helped me a little bit, at least! It dilutes the acid in the bladder [or whatever components are causing the pain.]

Hang in there! [Smile]

I would stay away from vinegar and also chocolate. Both are very bad things to have if you are fighting yeast.

We generally use Trimethoprim here for bladder infections. The infection sounds as if it is in your urethra too..if there is any change in odour (even like strong urine odour) then there is possibly bugs are colonising in the urethra and the skin outside...a specialist in London uses Polytim or Gentacin antibiotic eye ointment to put on here to kill the bugs on the perianum.

The book by Angela Kilmartin called 'The Patient's Encyclopaedia of Urinary Tract Infection, Sexual Cystitis and Interstitial Cystitis (Paperback)' on amazon helped me a lot.

Yeast can exacerbate cystisis and so can caffeine and other foods. Scrupulous hygiene is a huge issue, see Angela's book.

If it is not cystisis but burnign skin and breathing difficulties then Babesia could be the culprit. Mepron x 2 daily, Clarithromycin 500mg x 2 daily and Artemesia OR Artemesinin is the standard regimen for 5 months minimum.

hope you get this sorted out
Emma

Cantgiveup-Here is anothre thought....My son is having the exact same problems as you are....Currently scheduled for an Ultrasound of kidneys and Cystscopy of bladder....

We just started giving him Questran a week ago as he cannot eliminate toxins on his own it seems and the urinary issues have gotten much better...Still there but much better.

I remember a post during search of Questran on this board where someone had IC cleared up after starting Questran....

Maybe it would be worth a try with you too....I had tried D-Mannose for two months (maybe not long enough) and the problem never got an ounce better....Eileen

We've tried various things for yeast. Threelac, extra virgin coconut oil, freeze-dried garlic, etc. All had some beneficial effects.

Hi

There are nasty bugs that can live in the urinary tract and can only be found by sensitive tests..mycoplasma genitalium, enterococcus etc. etc.

I'd get a culture for these first along with antibiotic sensitivity...there is a lab in America that does it but I forget the name...one of the IC groups could point you in the right direction.

Angela Kilmartin's book has details of all the kinds of infections you can get.

Questran could help if it is a toxicity issue, but depends on what is causing your particular case...everyone is different. I think us Lymies get opportunistic bugs that other people don't have a problem with.

P.S.

Matia Britzman's from BOMAMED herbs work but I cannot take them as I am on so many antibiotics and I am pretty sure there is Artemsia in them so that is out for me.

Trimethoprim helped me most, I had enterococcus in the bladder.
