I've been on Flagyl exclusively for the last month. Worked myself from 250mg to 750mg during the first week.

Had some breaks from pain during the first couple of weeks.

Now I must be having a herx from hell for the last ten days. I can scarcely drag myself to the bathroom from my bed (a short distance). I'm sleeping about an hour at a time because I have to get up to pee every hour. I do best just lying in bed (where I have spent most of the last 4 weeks anyway), but I get stiff and have pain when I get up.

I see my doctor in a week.

Anyone else experience this on Flagyl?

I've been on 1500mg Flagly daily for 7 weeks,
along with IV rocephin. I herxed for 2 days after
the first 2 weeks, nothing since....just little, tolerable stuff.

I have experienced more joint pain, muscle weakness, and more peeing (and tons of diarrhea). I see the LLMD on Monday.

Hang in there,
Jill

I know the pain. Eventually, slowly, I have reached dose 2200 mg daily. I am still sick, though.

You've probably hit your 3-5 wk cycle. [you did start the flagyl 4 wks ago] OUCH! I hope your LLMD advocates backing off the meds when the herx becomes too severe.

Flagyl Expierience,
I thought I would die the first week on 750, neuropathies, hypersensitivities, stomach issues, absolute insomnia.....

came off for a week ad went back on...No problems except for diarreha and sleep issues...everything else I do IV (rocehpin and clindy)....is stonach problems an issue for flagyl?

Taking a break by the way was the best thing i could have done...that herx was miserable...Jill

Herxing was terrible on flagyl for me.... but it did help quite a bit.

I had a three month herx on flagyl... but when it was over I felt signifigantly better.

Best wishes [Smile]

If I was still trying to work I would not be able to do that with this herxx, but since I am on disability I don't have to worry about getting to the office.

Asked my son to get me my acidopholous this a.m. and then I burst into tears because I perceived his reaction as being impatient.

As I said to him, I don't want to have to ask other people to do everything for me. It is emotionally painful.

Azure had a 3 month herx and then improvement.

For those who have had success, how long did it take?

I had no improvement last year on Ketek, plaquenil and Doryx and I say that because the little steps forward that I took were erased.
