been of zithro and flagyl with probiotics and antivirals for three weeks. have been herxing for three weeks and 2 of my joints right elbow anfd left knee that were slightly hurting before are now full blown burning like fire.
also have yeast in the mouth taking vfend and oral mycolex.
could this be yeast in the joints, bb or a neuralgia from the herx.
is a three week herx normal?
felt so crappy today switched to ketek and no flagyl yet but probiotics.
feel better today than in three weeks

Sorry you are not feeling well.I do not know much about the herxs as I usually do not get them too bad.

I wanted to comment on the yeast on your tongue though, I got that once on Flagyl after taking it for about a week. I was having trouble swallowing it because it is such a pasty pill and it would leave a film on my tongue, hence the yeast.

SOmeone here recommended coating the Flagyl pill with oil and it slid right down with no film or aftertaste. Best trick I was ever taught. Good luck getting better!Peace!

I'm not sure what you said here. If you mean that you are also off probiotics, then that is your answer in my opinion.

I found out the hard way that yeast causes joint pain. Better get some Diflucan if you can or go to the health food store and get some natural stuff for the yeast.

Sorry i have no medical training so i really cant determine between it being lyme or yeast...

with my self i have been in treatment and sick so long i can usually just tell whats what....

sometimes though it is very confusing for me too.

you asked if a herx could last 3 weeks...

when i was on flagyl and bicillin i had a herx last 3 months

so they can be long.... until a few months ago i was having three week herxes every month... so they can very alot even within the same person...

they are not always that long though... i had them last days before.

best wishes [Smile]
