Experieced that for a long time. To me it feels like pressure along with pain behind the eye .
Sometimes it gets worse before a migraine with I believe is associated.
Also feels like nerves in my face going into the eye.
I was told it was neurological related.
It does get better with treatment however flairs up which tells me things are still not right with my body.
I know it is bothersome and scarey. I would check with my doctor. I find ice packs help somewhat.
Are you on any tx. Hope you feel better soon.

My pain is totally associated with eyeballing. If I don't move my eyes - I feel no pain. It does wakes me up from sleep - in REM sleep phase eyes move, you know.
I have developed it while being on Amoxycillin, Metronidazol, Ketek. When this pain appeared I have switched to Tetracykline.
Do you feel that any particular abx helped you better than others?

Being on many antiobotics I have had success with many. However as soon as I stop everything comes back.
At the present I have been on ampicillin for quite a long time.
I had many severe symptoms when starting. After a year or so they lessened to where I was pretty functional and in less pain.
Recently been sick with a flu and many things are actived, which really stinks.
Everyone is different and reactive differenly. I hope what they switched you to helps.
I accept there is no silver bullet only searching for the correct thing for you.

I used to call them eye headaches, had it for years before Lyme DX. Neuros said optic-neuritis due to MS, but that wasn't right. Excedrin Migraine formula was the only thing that would help.
My LLMD, Dr. P. knew exactly what I was describing the first appt. I had with him. It has resolved with my lyme treatments.

There can be a few different problems that are causing the pain. I had alot of eye problems with Lyme.
One was pain when moving the eyeball.
In my case, my Ophtalmologist thought it was inflammation of the tiny muscles that move the eyeball when you look up, down, left or right.
Sometimes I could tell which one of these muscles hurt- and other times, when multiple eye muscles hurt, I'd have to take about 1.5 to 2 grams of ibuprofen and lay down. (some times the pain would come and go- and somethings it sytayed for weeks).
Barb PS- the optic nerve can also be affected in lyme- but those symptoms are different- that can cause disturbances in the visual field

Hello Areneli. I have this too. At these times I would just rather move my whole head than shift my eyes from side to side or up and down.
I also develop a little behaviour of stooping to pick things up while keeping my head perfectly level and looking straight ahead (looks kind of weird but keeps me from looking down).
It's a head pressure issue for me. From constant migraines.
For me, a cycle that can only be broken with Relpax.
It is getting longer and longer between these "head attacks."
I believe it is brain inflammation/pressure from Bb.
I hope you find some relief. Just wanted to express sympathy; it does make fewer appearances with continued treatment.

I sometimes get pain behind my eyes. I think it is from muscles. I get a lot of muscle pain, which I control with Flexeril.
When I first went to an eye doctor, I couldn't be consistent with refractions because my eyes got tired and painful.
