have been told that Lyme can cause night terrors but I have had them since I was 12. When I'm dreaming and scared I lift my head off the pillow half in and out of sleep (somewhere in the middle) and start to moan or whimper. My husband sometimes has to wake me up. I'm sure all the medication and the lyme make it worse.

Below is the dream I had last night

I was dreaming about things coming after me. I was in a small town by myself where the streets were deserted and I looked up into the sky and it started to turn a sickly yellow or dark overcast. There was an object on a old gravestone that someone warned me or somehow I knew not to touch it for fear of retribution from something or someone or a curse. I moved the object anyway- (kind of like in indiana jones with the statue and the stone) and then I ran. My dream then switched to where I was in a house in a closet and there was a rickety wooden door that I was holding shut to keep out a werewolf that was after me. He was trying to push the door in to get to me and then it went silent and I saw his shadow move away from the door. I thought it save to venture outside again and everything started coming after me again-ghosts, shadows, dracula the wolf and this time when I ran for the closet and tried to push against the door to stop them from getting to me, the wolf got through and then I'm not sure exactly what happened but at the end of the dream I ended up placing the object back on top of the gravestone and it all stopped and the monsters were not after me anymore. Its like I knew I had to replace the stone and it all would stop.

Weird huh? Maybe it has something to do with lyme disease and not being able to get rid of it quite yet.

Do you take any anti-inflammatories? I had an anxiety dream every single night when I was on Vioxx. Dreams stopped the day I stopped taking Vioxx.

You may also not be having a full sleep cycle. If you aren't getting into a deep sleep, then you are more likely to remember your dreams.

yes, i had weird dreams when not on meds, but infected with Bb, and nightmares ranging with feeling tones from a little scary to out right terrifying.

i associated the scary to terrifying dreams with certain meds. and combinations of them.

the most terrifying was having taken gingko biloba, 8-12h. AFTER having finished a course of doxycycline. I had known that these two were not to be taken concurrently, so i waited until i finished the doxy before starting the gingko; the elapsed time was too short. I thought i had an unusual kind of stroke.

if i do this,or something like it, again, i'll wait days, probably 7 days BEFORE, or AFTER
doing this or something else.

the plumber's explanation for this gingko-doxy
effect goes along the lines of doxy raising blood pressure in the brain(intracranial pressure). gingko increases circulation of blood in teh head. raising circulation means raising blood pressure. so, thats the plumbing answer.

the rest of the psycho-physical goings-on is for the neurologist, zulu medicine doc,and c.g.jung, m.d., to figure out. [lol]

had i a choice, i would've chosen the zulu medicine doc for treatment, 'cause he would've put a whole in the side of my head for the purpose of relieving the pressure inside my skull. [lol] [bow] [Cool]

the neurologist would've made a prolonged project out of me. [puke] [Roll Eyes] [Wink]
'aight', gimme a break;its late night, friday, and i'ma gittin silly. [lol]

HeyNukegirls

Vivid dreams & nightmares I have heard quite a few people experience-especially while herxing.

I take a low dose doxepin and it helps keep me in deep ream sleep [sleepy]

But sometimes a cigar is just a cigar...

LOL
And sweet dreams [Smile]

I was having vivid, sometimes negative and stressful dreams when I was herxing.

I reported these to my acupuncturist (who also specializes in Chinese herbs).

When she gave me my herbal mixture at the end of that session, she mentioned that she had adjusted the formula to counteract the negative dreams.

I've had sweet dreams ever since.

I've been keeping dream journals for several decades but never imagined there were things I could take that might affect my dreaming -- at least not the content of my dreams.

I'm not sorry to see the disturbing dreams go; I'm just not sure what to make of all this.

Maybe I should go back and reread those Carlos Castenada books I read in college....

pq: Gettin' silly beats havin' nightmares!

I had lots of nightmares when I started my most recent health decline, about three years ago. They were completely different than any dreams I'd ever had: crisp, clear, 3-D technicolor, dolby-surround sharp.

Had 'em for weeks, then off and on for a few months. This was just about the time I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Haven't had one for a while, but I still get a scary dream occasionally.

This morning I was chasing a murderer, and hiding amidst piled carpets so close that I couldn't breath. Woke up only to realize I had forgotten to use my inhaler last night and WAS having trouble breathing. Hmmm.

Last night a T Rex was terrorizing a town I was living in. There was a blond woman in my dream that it didn't seem to like at all, but it did seem to like my character, and at one point in the dream, I was feeding it gigantic millipede-like worms....one by one.

[Big Grin]

I had several weird and scary dreams last night. I don't know why. Most of the time my dreams aren't scary.

NIghtmares are a listed side effect of Biaxin, so you might want to avoid it.

The Mepron dreams definetly take the cake in my book. I will never forget the whacked out vivid craziness of mepron dreams, oh yes, Biaxin too...and Flagyl. So many meds, so many dreams....I wish i could have a record button to play back my dreams on the big screen. Especially the one when the ticks were crawling out of the forest at me and I couldnt run because my legs were up to the top of the knees in melting marshmallows. I have had many dreams where I can't run, and I am sick in the dreams, do you guys have Lyme in your dreams? I have many healthy dreams too, where I am climbing mountains...but this post made me remember the marshmallow one.

I have terrible nightmares. Doctors keep telling me I have "unresolved issues," but the dreams have nothing to do with what's going on in my life. I think it has more to do with the meds.
