As I read through the unending amounts of information about both Lyme and MS I see many references to heat and body temps.

As I recall when I was first infected and had the flu-like symptoms my core body temp changed.
Now a normal temp for me is about 97 degrees.
Not the average 98.6
So even if I am running at 99, I have a fever.

Did anyone else have a significant change in their core body temp?

I also am usually around 97 degrees. At times I feel like I have a fever and when I take my temp its the opposite. This is one tricky disease.

Take care......

There have been threads on this before. Many people here feel they have lower body temperature. Mine has been in the 97-97.5 range my whole life, pre-Lyme. My brother's too.

Supposedly, the way they came up with 98.6 is questionable. People were tested who came into clinics. So it was't really a random sample, since people were more likely to be sick. But that might be a fairy tale.

I have run cold for 20 years with lyme-when I don't have low body temp I have fever & chills.

Since I got treated for babs I don't run amy fevers any more
but now I get hot flases followed by sweats but no fever. Gotta be grateful for that.

Take care [Smile]

I believe I've read that the spirochetes don't like the heat, so they attack the part of the brain that controls the temp..??

You might also check into Wilson's Syndrome.

Add me to the list with the low body temp (97.something). Upon starting abx, my body temp has risen.

I take the T3 thyroid hormone Wilson's Syndrome recommends, but it does not do anything to raise my body temp.

too long ago and I was 10 when I got it... most 10 year olds dont know their body temp

but from the time I was sick it ranged in the 97s 96s and

every time I have made signifigant improvement it has changed to 98s now it is usually 98.6

best wishes [Smile]

HI, I have taken a lot of temps for yrs. working in hospitals.
Most peoples temp does run normal around 98.4 to 98.6 except for some when first awake. Then goes up quickly.

I have for yrs. since ill run very low temp.
I live in Fl. can`t use the A/C. 1 due to no income, other I freeze in cool temps.

Dr. W. at Bowen told me if I can`t get my temp. up treatment will probably be not to effective.

My temp. at highest is usually 97.
When I am really ill or go through some of my horrid constipation bouts.
I shake for hrs. Took my temp, after few times out curiosity. It dropped to 91.4 1 time. Many times to 93 or 94.

My reaction when temp goes up, is just opposite of what is normal.
When fever breaks usually break out in sweat.
I break out in sweat if temp. goes up.

Talk about dysautonomic.

Anyone else notice this???

Lyme has hard time surviving under high temps.

So for us almost good to run fever.
Heard some actually herx, when they tested using sauna`s or Hot tubs to keep temp up for period of time.

Other thing they can`t battle is High testosterone.
Why more women have what is called FM/MS/Lupus/etc. Comes usually in mid thirties, might been hiding for yrs. then hormone level drops.
AHA window of opportunity to jump right in & become active & multiply. Along with providing low temp, for survival.
Smart little buggers.
That is why some can`t get better on antibiotics or have to change frequently.
They begin to love it, almost like breakfast lunch & dinner. Become stronger with very thing that is supposed to be helping you. Hmmmm

On learn channel had 4 hr. program you can see how they thrive off the antibiotics.

Why so many people when need now adays have become immune. to many of the antibiotics.
Then they have to create another type.

Think about it not that long ago most people relied on penicillin then ampicillen.

Now they are working on some super 1, they said because they think we are going to be hit hard by stealth bacterium/cross viral.

That is because Govt. with letting out the mycoplasma, yrs. ago. They know we already have stealth out there. What some call LYME,
or many other more familiar names of illnesses.

ALS is growing faster than ever, they do not know what to do. DUH.
If would have helped us to begin with.
I am still fighting to get treated.

It`s late so fatigued, frig. broke, on recall what a mess. Used up all my en-gerny, yet still awake feeling like crap.

Came close today, calling Dr. to send help.

Do not know how much sicker I can get & live alone with no help what so ever.
Just getting too old & too long fighting.

Plain tuckered out. HELP!!!! sigh YAWN [Frown]

UP, Know this has come into play prior.
for newbies.
Temp. is important pat figuring out what is happening,
Whether Wilson's etc.
Lymies temp they run very important,

Relates to treatment results, also.

Should take in am then later, & once again.

If interested in Wilson's, they do have web site telling you how to test.

Truly is huge part if temp cannot get raised.
can then be fighting losing battle.
It against us,grrrrrrr [group hug] Kerry
