Anyone know any tricks for when insurance refuses to reimburse me for a Drs visit or Igenx testing? I have an HMO and was not able to be referred to a lyme literate dr so I had to see someone else (who I found on my own). I submitted the form to be reimbursed and of course was told no. Same with the tests.... if you have any form letters or tried-and-true methods of getting insurance to help, I would LOVE your advice! thanks!! I know this is probably something we all deal with (BLAH!)

Is your insurance through your employer? Some employers have very good benefit managers who will work with you to try and get as much covered as possible.
That said, other employers have benefit managers who try as hard as possible to keep down costs. Only you can judge that one.
The only other trick is to talk with the insurance company before, and get a letter of pre-approval.

Crabby, see TREEPATROL'S NEWBIE LINKS and look thru them for insurance help ok.
Also, Crabby, you ended up with 2 duplicate posts. Please edit/PENCIL icon, and show DELETED MESSAGE on 1 topic line and DELETE all the text on that one so there is only 1 post showing up on the board.
Thanks so much. This board can have up 3-4 FULL screens full PER day of posts/replies.
