Welcome bartonella blues
A good place to start is at the top of this page the "newbie links"
If you have a medical question you post or look here, in medical.
General support is more for all around support.
Both forums can be found on the first page that comes up when you arrive just click on flash discussion.
Since this is medical and you want to go to general support, scroll up to the top of page and click on general.
People here are very kind and supportive.
I hope your fog clears soon. Are you seeing a lyme literate doctor? Are you on abx?

Hi, Bart B. -
I'm kind of new here, too. I just sort of blundered around a bit to learn how this forum works - still learning, I might add.
You must be doing something right.... your topic is up and running......

Bart B! My daughter was recently diagnosed with Bartonella. If you don't mind sharing, I would like to know your top ten major symptoms.
My daughter is 18 and has been progressing with illness for three years. First it started with migraines, then depression/anxiety/OCD, then mycoplasma pneumonia/epstein barre, parvovirus, then body system dysfunctions too numerous to mention.
When the doc deemed her "well" after a round of doxy, we spent a year going to "specialists". All I can say is some doctors have to graduate in the bottom half of their class, and I think we hit them all.
Through internet research (make the internet your friend), it lead me to several websites and a referral to a local Lime Literate Doc who gave us hope when we were about to lose it.
My daughter has been on Zythromax exclusively since January. She is herxing, but having more days of smiling than she has had in a long time. She has been in and out of school, mostly out, but will manage to graduate on time next month.
After that, who knows, but this website is fabulous, and the more you dig, the more you will find. Have fun with it, learn, and you will find hope.
I noticed you posted your daughter developed OCD...my son's OCD is horrendous and started after starting treatment for lyme....
If you dont mind sharing....What has helped the OCD? My son did not test positive for Bart...which I know does not mean a darn thing anymore...my thing was should we add in yet another medication for OCD or wait and judge some progress with treatment for lyme against how much of his OCD symptoms disappear...
He had also developed a facial tick just prior to starting lyme treatment and this has gotten better along with his hand tremor that is now gone...
Thanks for your input...I dont see much on the OCD subject...Eileen

Kelmo: I wrote you a rather lengthy answer to your request for my symptoms of bartonella. I don't think i did it properly. I am still so new to this.(5 or 6 days) Did you by chance receive it? If not,let me know. i shall try again.

Bart Blues,
Noticed you said you sent a lengthy note to someone & felt it didn't get there. May I make this suggestion to you?
Type it in whatever word processing you have: MS word, wordperfect, etc. Save it there w/assigned name. Then copy/paste it to a reply on your post. Then enter to submit. Saves a lot of HARD work & time not retyping something in depth like you said you did.
I know from the hard way! I used to type LEGAL agreements, and many of them vanished to never-never land! These were from 10-50 pages in length. I always made sure they were on mainframe saved and a backup floppy of EACH agreement should they be lost again.

Bartonella B....I'm so sorry, it didn't go through that I can tell. I haven't written a private message to anyone yet, just replied to them. Others have written to me and they have come through, so I know it works. Try again, I would love to hear from you.
I'm new to this forum and so grateful for it. My daughter needs to get on, but she has been herxing pretty bad and can't use her hands to type.
Just send a test reply first before your retype the whole thing. Then you can just write to me what you remember and we'll take it from there. I don't want to wear you out.
To the person who asked the OCD question. I'm not sure if Bartonella/Lyme was the cause of that, it came before the fibromyalgia, so we thought she was just having hereditary issues, or dealing with teacher traumas.
She has mentioned that she is still experiencing some OCD tendencies, but, it's a matter of retraining yourself, and cognitive behavior therepy is good for that.
As far as medication, it's also a personal trial by error. She has found Cymbalta in the daytime, and Seroquel and Rozerem to help sleep at night. I'm not sure how her REM4 sleep is, but she sleeps a good 12+ hours every night.
If she doesn't sleep, then she has insomnia BAD and night terrors.
Anyone else experience that? I have heard some crazy dreams expressed on this site.
