By the way .... GREAT JOB TEXAS! Texans added over 84 votes since February 26th! Way to go Texas!!!

Hi Betty:

Thanks for signing the petition. I created it at 4 am in the morning, and did it because I am just so mad at how we continually get "dis"-counted!

[bonk]

I really had no expectations on it actually being something folks would sign. I was shocked to see so many sign up so quickly. So now I feel I need everyone's help to make it successful. I want to slam them with numbers and stories and just get them to pay attention to the distress we are going through as a patient population.

I take time to read through each story, and it just breaks my heart. Story after story ... the lack of proper medical care, the years of suffering, and the debilitating effects on peoples lives, is just so very unacceptable.

[Frown]

My main reason for responding to you is the note you posted at the end of your message, where you talked about it taking 5 + years to get SSDI.

I too went through nearly 3 years ... living on $3.00 a day for food, no medical, and at times came very close to being homeless. All this while being so very very severely sick.

The disabilty process is so incredibly inhumane and broken.

It was after going through that process that I made a decision that I wanted to a difference in other peoples lives. To some how find a way to make this path easier for the next person.

I really do believe ... as we find each other and unite with each other ... we will make a difference.

Again ... I am so very sorry you were put through all of that unnecessary inhumane treatment. However, with that step behind you, my hope is now you will be able to create an optimum healing environoment for yourself. You deserve it, and no you did not deserve to have to go through 5 years of additional stress.

My very best to you!

Alexis

Alexis, I checked out the petition again looking for my name; didn't see it so signed up! I hope I did it right.

Yes, no lymie deserves to be put thru the dog and pony show of 5 years to be approved for SSDI benefits!
