You have sure got a whole bunch of germs. This is one reason why you are having so much trouble.

I will only reply to the weight loss issue, since I also had this, and when treated long enough for babesia (8 months) the weight came back. You don't mention any antimalarial except malarone. This is considered a lite version of mepron, and some people have found it not strong enough. Might be necessary to change the anti-babesial aspect of your treatment plan. Some people think babesia causes headaches. There may be symptom overlap between these diseases, as lyme can also cause headaches.

So sorry you are suffering so much, Isa.

You will improve with time...although it probably doesn't feel like that.

Do you have pain when off antiboitcs? Maybe you could ask your llmd if a short break would help to calm your over active immune system. Then restart when feeling stronger.

Maybe ask about systemic candida...with all the abx...

I am not a doc...only a student of lyme but all this pain you are having probably means that the antibiotics are doing their job. Your immune system has a hard time "cleaning up" with such a high germ load.

You are courageous to be fighting back at this illness- since you have been able to get this far-finding treatment and lymenet, you are officially a strong and resouceful lymie.

I have great respect for all the good people here who are fighting for their lives and others every day.

Hang in and Hang on...each day moves you closer to your health. Hope and patience are sometimes the best medicines with lyme.

I have lost a great deal of weight also--too bad it comes at such a high price.

Hi Isabel! Yes, make sure you treat that babesia a little harder. The malarone is not that strong unless you are taking a large dose.

I would also try to clear out toxins and take a break ever so often to give your body a rest.
