Anyone have this symptom? I checked for dandruff and could not see any white flakes but I haven't tried a dandruff shampoo yet. My husband says my scalp is just red from scratching but he could not see anything out of the ordinary because I obviously can't see the back of my head. [lol]

I am chalking the itching up to yeast buildup in the body maybe from the Biaxin but I am taking Florastor and custom probiotics both. The itching is driving me crazy! [shake]

I saw this on the internet and didn't know if anyone has tried this. Thought I would give it a shot.

They were saying in this excerpt that Grapefruit seed oil added to your shampoo will help this as well as tea tree oil.

Excerpt:

Dandruff is most often caused by an inflammatory response to an overgrowth of scalp fungus which causes itching and scaling. When this is the case, good results may be obtained by adding a few drops of GSE to one's regular shampoo, leave on for 3 - 5 minutes.

I used to have itchy scalp.

Currently my red lyme rash is back again. Hubby sugested putting on RUBBING ALCOHOL; I did, and it stopped the itching! Why not try some of your scalp? good luck.

Same problem. Since 4 days I'm using a tea tree oil shampoo and it seems to help.

Definitely is fungal. I had the same thing 10 years ago when I first got sick and no one knew what was wrong with me. I was treated with Nizoral shampoo. I guess you could try any topical antifungal. Clove oil pretty much kills whatever it comes in contact with.

Nukegirl,

I've had the same thing the past 3 weeks or so and it's driving me crazy too. The itching seems deeper and more intense than plain ole dandruff. Plus, there are little grainy things coming out too (could be scales). I've had candida symptoms too so I was also thinking fungus.
