I was wondering why places like lab corp present so many false negatives for lyme?

I was tested for lyme at lab corp using the lyme ab/western blot reflex test (igG and igM) and tested negative.

I now know after extensive research that alone does not mean i do not have lyme, because the antibody strengths are not sufficient.

I keep looking at my lab corp results, saying, "why couldn't they have been positive?" doesn't anyone test positive there? or is it just common knowledge to get further testing at places like igeneX and bowens.

What is it with these labs, do they want people to remain sick and undiagnosed??

It is a shame...

Mine at Quest was negative, but at Igenex is CDC positive.

One trick: taking abx awhile will greatly increase the posibility of being positive.

The reason see the link in a recent post by Scot."Hope to Heal Lyme Conference Notes"

By the way, I didn't know anybody who had good Lyme tests from LabCore.

My recent western blot from LabCorp was very highly positive. Six or seven positive bands and a titer of 1.79.

And then my PCP told me I don't have Lyme! [rant] Starting to wonder why I go to that MD. [bonk]

Reminder to all sending to Igenex or whatever lab,

write on their form you want results FAXED to your drs. offie, and snail mail a paper copy.

Our local clinic screwed up. They didn't follow up on mine since I was 1st person to deal with IGX.

Then they were sent results & were "lost". They wouldn't release them to me, but FAXED 2nd time to clinic to blood lab supr.

Results could be done in 1 wk. vs. the 2-3 wks. dragging otherwise. Good luck on your tests.
