Hi Friends-

I am wondering what you take for energy and if it helps and what side effects it has with it?

I am currently Provigil and I am still tired and it makes me feel weird. I feel out of it and I can't concentrate or get anything done. I use to take a natural supplement called Mitochondria Ignite. To my surprise it really did work, but after 3 months it stopped.

Any recomendations would greatly be appreciated. I am so tired and must get over the next couple of months.

Thanks!
Hope

Energy has always been one of my toughest symptoms

some people swear by NADH.
I have taken it and am out of it now.
maybe why I am so tired too. Don't know

Here are a few of my favorites:

mangosteen juice 1 ounce 3XD
whey protien powder
super green food
freeze dryed garlic caps 1 3XD with meals.
noni juice
bluberrys
cod liver oil
spirulina powder
acid free vit. C powder
flax seed oil

I put all in a blender(except for the garlic & NADH) And drink once in am and altered version in PM. Yes. Tastes & looks nasty but I hold my nose and drink it anyway.

p.s. I pulse the blueberry's because of the sugar content

This helps alot but doesn't solve the whole energy problem

If you find anything let me know too [Smile]

mangosteen juice... hands down #1!

NO side effects; only side benefits

Rhodiola Rosea.

Look up the book "Rhodiola Revolution" at Amazon.
Read the reviews under the hardcover edition.

Rhodiola products
http://www.iherb.com/rhodiola.html

I have been taking this for about a month or so, and I noticed my stamina is improving.

Rhodiola modulates the HPA axis, hypothalmus - pituitary - adrenal glands.
(Lyme messes up the HPA axis.)

BTW, I'm still on Buhner's herbal protocol, part of it anyway, at a reduced dosage.

Hi, Hope!

I use IM vitamin B-complex. That has really seemed to help me with my energy level.

The initial side effect I had was lumps and bruising at the injection site. After trying a tip I saw here-- to hold cotton on the area for at least five minutes -- the lumps and bruising have both subsided completely.

I had previously tried just B-12 but didn't get nearly the same positive results.

Hope this helps; I'm also interested in what other people write.

Andie

Provigil wasn't a good thing for me either I used it once or twice...

felt horrible on it decided slipping back into my state of sleepy sludge was better.

For a time a multi vitaomin and b complex helped a little.... but it stoped hellping for some reason.

Best wishes [Smile]

My LLMD recommended ATP-option (which I think you have to buy from a physician or chiropractor). I haven't tried it as I just started thyroid meds and didn't want to try two things at once.

Good luck. Hiker

Hi, after taking care many patients most swore by CoQ10. Though we need higher levels which for some of us can be problem, due to &&&&&.

Also Sam-e, also pricey.

People many times told me with hrs. of CoQ10, could tell diff. Not miracle but helpful.

If in huge Cfids flare it is tuff. Just eat as best as can.

Also for some like myself B12 shots really helped.

Be careful with Noni, known to be very hard on Kidney. Know few have had to have kidney removed after Noni.

CoQ10 is natural enzyme slowly diminished after age 40. Prob. why some start to lose their natural energy as they age.

Some also swear by Sam-e.

Chronic fatigue can be very painful & tuff to battle for many of patients I took care of.

Know I am battling it myself Big Time right now.

With non stop nausea hard to eat for me.

Take Care, [group hug] Kerry

Things I take which improve my energy:

Horney Goat Weed - follow package for dosage. Expensive, but good prices at vitacost.com

5-HTP - you can take up to 800 mg of this a day in 4 divided doses

Salt/C - I take several doses of this a day. 1000 mg C with 1/4 tsp RealSalt. I discovered that my sodium tends to run low from Lyme and this was causing me lots of cognitive and energy problems. Check your labs to see if this is a problem. Check sodium and chloride levels.
