I used to use it before I had the lyme diagnosis as cognitive problems were bad.

I felt like a freekin genius on it.

ITS GREAT STUFF,,, if you havent tried it before i recomend it.

Its side effects are.

Becoming smart
feeling connected to the universe
the past and future blend into the present
ESP
Excellent memory
Remember sights, smells, thoughts you had as a child.

other then that you might have a little insomnia,
but its not like caffeine at all.

Im not kidding, the stuff I thought was some miracle drug.

But after a while the LYME took hold and the piracetam was useless to me.

Even now I have a whole jug of the poweder, I can take the equivelent of 10 pills and fall right to sleep.

Before I would stay up reading books.

Im not kidding, I felt amazing on it.

Now that I think of it , it made me hypo manic.

But the strange thing is I understood everything.
I felt like some kind of god. But not in the way where I was running around naked or anything.

All good things must come to an end. I wonder why it doesnt work the same. Either tollerence or a major change in my brain chemestry?

How bout this one,, the Lyme screwed things up?

Any way Im a life long bad speller and fumble my words, but on the piracetam it was like I had a dictionary in my brain. I was able to explain stuff with lots of accuracy.

This is the stuff that got me through college.
2 years of it, but thats a whole different story!

Wow, that is really amazing! I'm going to try it. Maybe it won't work with the Lyme....but I would love to clear some of this brain fog.

I use piracetam for seizures, but I have never had the "brain fog" that some many people with Lyme talk about, so maybe it has helped me there, too.

What's the connection to liver spots?

I take vinpocetine, because it costs less.

I looked it up quickly and found this:

http://www.lycaeum.org/drugs.old/synthetics/smart/pir_faq.html

I am confused, what is it exactly?

Is it a 'drug' - or an amino acid??

Mo

EDIT --

Found this too:

CN Piracetam 800mg 120 Vcaps

Colorado Nutrition Premium Piracetam is manufactured in fast disolving hight tech Vcaps. Insist on the best! Piracetam (nootropyl) is reported to be an intelligence booster and CNS (central nervous system) stimulant with no known toxicity or addictive properties. Piracetam (2-oxo-Pyrrolidine Acetamide) is derived from the neurotransmitter GABA (Gamma Amino Butyric Acid). The subjective effect described by some people is that piracetam, "wakes up your brain." It's effects and safety are so impressive that piracetam prompted the creation of a new pharmaceutical category called nootropics. The term nootropic comes from a Greek word meaning "acting on the mind."

Piracetam enhances cognition under conditions of too little oxygen, and also improves memory and some kinds of learning in normal humans. Outside of the US, piracetam is used to treat alcoholism, stroke, vertigo, senile dementia, sickle cell anemia, dyslexia, and numerous other health problems (Pelton, 1989). In some countries it is available by prescription only. One of the most intriguing effects of piracetam is that it promotes the flow of information between the right and left hemispheres of the brain (Buresova, 1976). We know that the communication between the two sides of the brain is associated with flashes of creativity. This may also be the basis for piracetam's usefulness in the treatment of dyslexia (Dilanni, 1985).

Piracetam has these effects on the Brain:

-Enhances Brain Metabolism by increasing glucose utilization and blood & oxygen flow. This boosts mental energy & cerebral circulation.

-Supports healthy neuron communication & structure.

-Supports Cognitive Receptors and strengthens neurotransmitter receptors involved in memory.

-Increases the ability of the brain to communicate between hemispheres. This supports speech and creative thinking.

-Increases the brains ability to process information and think clearly.

-Works to reduce abnormal Blood clots.

-Piracetam also has a significant antioxidant effect.

Colorado Nutrition Piraceam is pharmaceutical grade tested at above 99.5% purity. Approved & used since 1970's worldwide (Europe, Asia, and South American) for various health conditions.

Dosage can vary from 2.4-9.6 Grams (2400mg to 9600mg) daily with higher dosages usually yielding faster, greater results. Some studies have used up to 45 grams daily.

it is closelly related to pyroglutamate, it works on glatamic acid in the brain which is an exitatory amino acid.

It is also puported to potentiate acetylcholine uptake in the synapses.

The benefits can be felt minutes after usage. THe half life is about 6 hours.

Caffeine and choline potentiate the effects.

It is common to take an "attack" dosage which means taking 5-10 grams all in one sitting.

Since there is no LD-50 this is considered safe.
An attack dosage would increase effects quicker for someone who hasent used it before.

Piracetam usually has a reverse tolerance and a bell curve too.

Like I said, it made me feel like a friggin genius for a couple of years.

Now I have a reverse reaction or little to no real effect.

Must be the toxins or infalmation in my brain present.

I wish it still worked as well as it did cause this stuff is amazing.

It makes you more CLEAR. And you understand everything it seems, you can see how everything is connected to everything and everyone else.
