I had to discontinue the Mino (dizziness) and my LLMD kept me on the Ceftin and added sublingual B12 instead of another ABX.

This seems to be OK except the Babs is acting up and I don't want to add Artemesinin in again until I have a drug to assist it, which the Ceftin won't.

I was on Malarone for 9 months, but don't want the Babs to become resistent to this, so am looking for other options.

I've used Biaxin and Ketek(which made me anxious)/Plaqinel(sp?) but these weren't that effective for me.

Maybe Biaxin/Bactrim? Haven't heard much here about Bactrim, though I thought it was considered an option for treating Babs.Mepron is out as my insurance won't cover it.

Bactrim users or other ideas?

Is the Flagyl for Babs? I don't think the Biaxin is.
I just had to discontinue Flagyl due to diahrea and am not anxious to start it up again. I thought it was primarily considered a cyst buster?

Quinine/Clindamycin is another option. Don't know about combining that with Ceftin.

Might try starting another thread with the word Bactrim in the subject if that is the one you are really wanting to know about.

Take Red Root tincture with your Artemisinin. Go on the high dosage of Artemisinin. Like 1200 to 1500mg a day, for 3 days. then take two (2) weeks off, then hit it again. Repeat IF necessary.

That SHOULD take care of you.

You can take other herbs also to take care of your Lyme and any other co-infection.

Hi, Jim, are you talking about the whole herb?
cuz, Healing Lyme suggests taking Artemisinin at 300mg per day.

Yours are 4-5 times more.

Thanks

I am taking 1500mg Artemisinin (Allergy Research Group) caps as mentioned in the Dr. K protocol. 3 day on 2 week break and then I repeat.

How much Ceftin are you taking? You can add Biaxin 1,500 mg -2,000 mg per day of Biaxin to the Ceftin, and take 3,000 mg Ceftin, and then add Flagyl. Just an idea.

Thanks for your imput. I'm waiting to hear from doc to see what abx he's going to add, but am going back on Malarone for now.He doesn't want to add the abx until I'm on the Mal.

Yes, I've done a full round of 1200mg Atremisinin,3 days on, 2 weeks later again, but am going to wait Until I'm fully on the Malarone to do that again.

I have done Biaxin/Plaquinel combo which was just fair. We'll see.....

Dave, IF you will read deeper into the chapter on Babs, you will see that Buhner DOES recommend the Chinese version of the high doses for three days, then two weeks off, the three days on and two weeks off, and repeat if still necessary. AND it will probably be necessary. It doesn't go away easy.

Jim.
