Hi,

I noticed that right before my Lyme resurrgence I had an unusual amount of outbreaks of Herpes 1. Now that I am being treated I am still getting more than usual outbreaks. Is this something that happens with Lyme? Thanks

It sure happens to me. Saint Johns wort tincture is an effective antviral, you might try it. My doctor is always pushing valtrex and acyclovar, which I will take if all else fails. She feels that the virus needs to be kept in check so immuns system can concentrate on Lyme.

Out immune systems are deppressed, so all these retroviruses like to pop up.

It is a problem for me when the Lyme is bad. I use acyclovir orally. There have been years that I take it daily to prevent cold sores for months at a time. If I stop, I get an outbreak.

My doctor put me on Acyclovir when I started treatment. I ran out once and stopped taking it for a week. I developed a really bad sore in the back of my throat.

It could just be your immune system is activated by the treatment.

I used to get sores in my mouth all the time. My doctor told me to get powdered acidophilus and put in directly on the sores. That took care of the problem for me.

I'm not saying it will solve the problem for you but it might be worth a try.

Thanks for the great advice. Do you think Hepres can actually bring out dormant Lyme. It seems to activate my Lyme symptoms.

I think it is the other way around.

I never had cold sores as a kid. Only got them as an adult during my first lyme relapse.

interesting though though to consider it could be the other way around? herpes bringing out the lyme.

Once infected by the herpes virus- you are infected for life.

Herpes simplex (cold sore virus) live in a nerve ganglion in or near the spine somewhere below the cervical vertbrae.

When the immune system is supressed, herpes leaves it's abode and takes a trip.. i.e supression = too much UV light (the sun), too much stress, or too many abx (most abx have some supressive mechanisms).

The virus travels up a nerve just like a car going along a road. And in a few hrs it reaches it's destination and stops at tissues it's infected before (inside of mouth, but mainly the lips) inserts it's tail into the cell and starts pumping it's DNA in.

I have found that 2 to 3 Tbs of Lewis Labs brewers yeast flakes will stop the herpes virus. I think it's a combination of amino acids that cleave the virus's tail & stops the DNA input at what ever stage it's at.

It's not just on me that this has worked- I've told at least 50 people- it's worked on every one of them - that's 100% efficacy -can't say that about too many things.

This product is grown on sugar beets for human consumption - it's not a brewers by product.

Most probably the reason a person has more
out- breaks of cold sores while on Lyme therapy is that most abx depress the immune system....
There's been plenty of posts that mention low WBC count while on Lyme therapy.
