Anyone have good suggestions for conutering the constipating effects of Cholestyramine? And how to use these measures, whatever they may be?

I was eating a hot breakfast cereal---7 grains daily. I ate 3 prunes a day. I ate Activa yogurt daily (I know it has sugar in it).
I was not on that much cholestyramine...3/4 tsp per night.
I was not constipated.

Vitamin C and magnesium will both help with constipation issues. You can take them at the same time as the CSM. Be sure to drink lots of water.
Also, taking sufficient fat while taking the cholestyramine helps the constipation, and also makes it more effective at removing bile. Some cream, olive oil, cheese, nuts, or something else fatty, one half hour after taking the CSM, will cause your gall bladder to dump bile. Plus, it tastses good!
