Folks,
I have a friend here at school suffering with supposed MS. He is in his mid 40's. His main symptoms are severe spasticity, and inability to speak. He has not spoken in 3 years.
Any knowledge if this could be Lyme? Loss of speach is very uncommon in MS. He is from Jew Jersey, born and raised. He is poor.
I need to save him.
Help me to figure out if it could be Lyme so that he is not let down. I think that it is Lyme based on my studies.
Your Thoughts,
Jmcc.

I was bit by a tick and forgot about for nearly 3 years. My speech began to falter and slurr progressively weaker last summer. I communicate now mainly by writing.

I met CDC criteria for Lyme and Bart, later positive for Chlymadia Pnuemonia. Been on treatment for 7 mos.

Cranial nerve involvement with Lyme can cause any Sx to appear. Your freind is a highly probable Lymie.

You might want to get his blood tested thru www.igenex.com 1-800-832-3200

but you will need a knowlegable LLMD to read the test results correctly. very important which bands light up.

CDC neg doesn't mean squat
I wish I could be more helpful.

hope you can find help for your friend [group hug]

wow...how can we help. Good advice about getting tested through Igenex.

what basis did they dx him with MS.....did he have mri's and lumbar puncture?

the best thing to do would be to have him tested.....if it is negative then you could still find him an LLMD and see what they say.

Good luck and i wish you the best.

If you need help with Igenex let us know!!

Agent, speech involvement means cranial nerves. Infection must be stopped before healing can begin. That can take a year on heavy treatment.

Rebuilding myelin requires alot of mega dosing the right nutrients.

Google "townsend letter, klenner MS protocol". That is what I am doing in addition to lyme Tx and a few others.

best of luck.

Lyme Ed, any more information about the case you know of? How long was speech impaired. Mine less than a year. Thanks

Not nec. lyme, but indeed it is an infection that is destroying the myelin sheath.

Cholesterol is being broken down. Cholesterol forms the myelin sheath - the insulation around the nerves. Some food pathogens do this. Been there, my son's cholesterol level dropped to 86. PubMed indicates that put him at great risk for bowel cancer.

Thanks to Mo on this board (!)...coconut oil capsules (Source Naturals brand) have made a HUGE difference...and a ton of other nutrients too since at one point, he his beneficial bacteria levels were extremely low.

In lyme, cholesterol levels usually rise..unfortunately not the good kind.

We MAKE cholesterol (via nutrients) OR we get it from our diets. When we MAKE it, it is the healthier kind.

By stopping production of cholesterol in the liver, to knock out this infection (via large doses of Mg or arbs drugs ie., Benicar), then we have to rely on our diets supplying cholesterol...which it does, but the bad kind.

Igenex testing is expensive. Be aware since you mentioned money problems.

I know at least one person who was diagnosed with ALS and it turned out he had Lyme. He was losing his ability to speak before Lyme treatment.

Post in the seeking doctors forum for a doctor in NJ. (You may also want to edit the typo in your message on the spelling of New Jersey so nobody takes it the wrong way).
