I've just begun doing reserach on the LYMErix vaccine, and I wanted to get the "expert" opinion from all of you. We've been told the vaccine can be advantageous after symptoms have developed. In this case, the symptoms mimic a motor neuron disorder. What do you all think of this vaccine curing Lyme's, or in our situation, probable Master's Disease?

I would definitely NOT do it. I know that people that had it get much worse if they later get Lyme for one. Is it even available? I thought it was totally pulled from the market? Are you talking about using a veterinary preparation?

More likely that it would make the Lyme WORSE!!!
Forget it!! And I agree, it shouldn't be available. Over 1,000 people sued the company that made the vaccine, so I HOPE it's truly off the market!!!!!

One has to understand how the vacine was supposed to work. Once this is clear, it is pretty obvious that it should not have any other bennifits, especialy for something like ALS or other motor neuron disease.
The vacine works by introducing antigens that are specific to the Lyme bacteria WHILE IN THE GUT OF THE TICK. Basically the bacteria int he tick are supposed to be killed before it barfs up part of its breakfast into you blood.
The ticks gut is a totally different enviroment than a human/animal. For one thing, it is a lot colder and enzymes that are presnt are also quite diferent.
The net result is that the bacteria is actually different while in the tick. Once it enters your blood, new genes are activated that allow it to change to suit the new enviroment.
I suspect that is also the time that the clock starts ticking on the relapse cycle (ie, two people simultaenously infected from a tick would have the exact same cycle peak times).
So with that basic information, unless you have the tick form of the vacine in your body then it will not do any good. Even if you did then you would already have the aniotbodies anyway.
Now for the bad part. It was found that some people have a speciic gene that maes them suspetable to severe arthritis if given the Limreix.
About 30% of the population has this gene. it is not entirely understood why but some speculate that the it has to do with tissue equivalance to the parts of the protiens targeted by the anitbodies that are formed as part f the limerix treatment.
Others speculate that it has to do with anti-antibodies. Regardless of the cause it is bad news and was pulled of fthe market due to "poor sales".
I read "poor sales" in a general sense meaning "BAD FOR BUSSINESS" since 30% of the people that took the vacine will likely end up sueing the company, the patent holders and the proponents of the vacine.
Thats about as "expert" as I can get on the subject. I hope it makes some sense.
