Just got the test results back for Greg. These were told to me over the phone. I'll pick up the faxes tomorrow at work. MDL - no co-infections, Quest - everything is fine, Igenex -IGG all neg. IGM some positive bands (not sure which ones)
Greg hasn't been on any meds since 2/14. He still has the same symptoms he had then: brain fog, achy, fatigue, knee pain. No worse, but no better.
His llmd is leaning towards not putting him back on meds. I'm afraid that he will "crash" some time this summer or just before he heads off to a new life in college.
We were thinking of seeing a dr. who might deal with holoistic meds to help with the fatigue and pain.
Am open to suggestions on what we might do next.

I have gotten progressively worse since I first contracted Lyme didease. It may not be the same for your husband but I would get a second opinion first. Most doctors (or LLMD's) will say continue to treat until every symptoms is gone I believe for at least 30 days there after.
Good Luck! Hope

I would find your son a new dr. (If I remember right Greg is your son, right?)
In my opinion (I have no medical background) I would say if he still has symptoms he is still sick...
therefore still needs treatment.
I would never quit treatment cuz of what some lousy tests say. Even the best still arent completely reliable -(too many false negatives)
After talking to the office yesterday, Greg was put back on zithro & cipro to see if the pain and fatigue go away.
Not sure if we should still try to see a new dr. or stay with him. Greg has been on these drugs before with out much change. Maybe we need to look at other infections besides lyme ones. Kathy as always, Posts: 64 | From MA | Registered: Mar 2006

Looking at co-infections was my first thought. In some cases, if one has Babesiosis as well as Lyme, treatments for Lyme won't work until Babesiosis is knocked out.
You are surely in an area where co-infection is a big problem.
"93: The DNA or genetic material of Borrelia burgdorferi. In my clinical experience, if a patient has symptoms suspicious for borreliosis, and has one or more of the following bands, there is a very high probability the patient has borreliosis.
These bands are 18, 22, 23-25, 28, 30, 31, 34, 37, 39, 41, 83, and 93. This is true regardless of whether it is IgG or IgM...."

ok, now looking for a new dr. Anyone know anything about Dr. R at whole health? How about Dr. P. in Amesbury?
I'd love to find one who uses suppliments and herbs as well as meds. Just tired of using the same old meds and figure something new might help! Not ready to give up the old prescriptions yet!!!
Kathy as always,
even more so coming out of the health food store!!! not to mention a lot poorer!
