it seems that everything i eat causes me to bloat up. Two weeks ago I stopped snacking, ate fruit for lunch, a vegan protein bar for lunch and dinner..I was lighter than ever, no bloating, no clothes were very loose on me. This week I have been eating a bit more, but not pigging out and I have gained so much "weight."

My jeans that fell off of me last wednesday are skin tight. It is baffling. One week did this? I feel like I have gained 10 lbs, but i am sure I am retaining water or something... does anyone else have this problem? Is this a lyme symptom? It is terrible.

Maybe it's a food allergy.

I had that exact problem before I realized I was allergic to wheat.

I would not only feel as if I've gained 10 pounds; I would literally gain 10 pounds within a week's time.

Another suggestion: Dad always had this happen to him, and he'd collect fluid on his lungs and around the heart in a few days gain 10-20 lbs!

He'd be admitted to hospital to take it off by IVs. He had many illnesses including congestive heart failure.

Now, I'm sure he had chronic lyme since age 7 or earlier; lived with it 80 years until his death!

Good luck finding out what is causing your swelling. I too have swelling I did not know anything about in my hands at knuckle area. LLMD said I had it in my ankles but I don't feel it, and we had NO TIME TO CHIT CHAT. I had a very thorough, 3 hr. extensive physical/exam.

I also gained weight...17lbs in two weeks. Water weight. Dandelion Leaf tea helps me get into a size 6, orginaly was a 4 now without the diruetic tea, I'm an 8. Feel horrid that size.

If you're on abx, it could be yeast. If not, the answers above may be the right ones for you!!

....or you could have yeast and not know it. I had yeast BEFORE beginning Lyme treatment.

Try a day of NO fruit, no simple carbs like rice, or potatoes, bread. See if you feel better.
