I would like to hear from everyone about minocycline...how did it work?I believe that it will be the drug of choice for lyme....It works very well in a low dose or high dose...it relieves the inflammation along with killing power across the bbb and reproduction barriers...I recommend it for all...the 50mg works well as a low presence antibiotic that can be used for years and it is very very well studyed...it gave me my life aloong with ceftin as the second and doxy third and ketek forth...
let me know what you all think?

Hi Eric,
I'll endorse Minocin too, although it has taken me a long time. I have used it on and off for two years, sometimes combined with Zithromax. This I did after becoming allergic to most other abx. For me, it was way, way better than Doxy.

At first, it made me dizzy and some of the herxes were severe. I would back off if they became too bad. But now I feel much better and my head is clearer, and my arthritis is gone, although some of my finger joints are still enlarged.

What I don't like about it is the fact that it makes me sun sensitive (not good for summer months) and it has given me discolored spots.

Also, I buy Minocin not the generic and the brand name is expensive. I don't know if there's a difference between them, but I am going with the brand name.

On, and I take it with food. I have tried taking it just with water or tea, but it makes me nauseous. So I take it with some food, which is probably not correct, but for me is necessary. I take 200 mg a day.

It's been a good drug for me, but I think it is one of those that might not be right for everyone.

Hope these thoughts are helpful.

Hello fellow Minocin takers,

I am currently pulsing 100mg Minocin MWF for RA symptoms. I am just entering my 3rd month so no great difference noted as yet.

I did not realize this low dose amount would be good for Lyme too. I was pleased when I began that it would not be contraindicated to Lyme.

At first I was seeing great improvement, but for the last 10 days, I have had increased joint pain. I am under a doctor's care for Leaky Gut and systemic yeast and he is treating these with lots of bacteria/parasite killing herbs and enzymes. I am hoping the increased joint pain is due to die off. Meanwhile, I continue my Minocin.

Spotted pony (luv your name as horses are what I luv to ride) www.roadback.org promotes the abx treatment of RA and studies have found that generic brands are inferior to the brand name. I know what you mean about the costs.

A member of roadback recently shared a website www.buylowdrugs.com out of Canada where she purchased Minocin at a greatly reduced cost. I may look into this as well as it is a longterm treatment.

I took minocycoline for 6 weeks last year. At first I was dizzy and herxed and then I felt great. I did not have any problems with the sun and I am outside a lot. Hiker
