I have been reading up on this probiotic and am wondering about the dosage. Taking abx all the time, is it necessary to take it every day even after the first two weeks? Or is twice weekly sufficient?

Hi Hurtin'.

I say, as long as you're on antibiotics, toss one a day down the hatch.

I do, and it helps a LOT.

If I slack, it doesn't take long to feel the difference creepin back in.

Good luck. It's an unbelievable probiotic.

I agree with the above smart woman. [Wink]

One a day. I actually take two a day when I am feeling like yeast might be getting the upper hand. I also take PB8 (another good probiotic) coz I just had bought some, but I think Theralac is far better!

When I ordered mine by phone the man I spoke with told me that with Lyme we should back down to a minimum of one very other day, after a month of being on them every day. So far, so good for me. I'm still in my first month, but closing in on the end.

I agree with all the above smart people [Smile]

If you are on abx then one theralac a day is the right thing to do.

When I was on abx I took one theralac a day and then at night used 2-4 more different probiotics.

When your on abx JMHO you can't replace the friendly flora fast enough. I still have massive yeast problems..dispite a strick diet and anit-yeast supps.

Once you get a yeast problem-low flora- it's a beast to get rif of. [Frown]

I emailed the owner/inventor of Theralac (I'm awaiting my first order) and here's what he replied:

"Many doctors recommend two capsules of Theralac a day for Lyme patients on heavy antibiotic programs.

Once you notice improvements in regularity and stool consistency, you can back off to one capsule daily. It may take two to four weeks at two/day to achieve this result or more depending on the individual.

As long as you are on the antibiotics, it's important to stay on Theralac. Some people find they can back off to one capsule every-other-day after two-to-three months."

Just a note: I used Theralac, and have used it daily (along with other probiotics). I STILL got C. diff. It did NOT protect me from that. [Frown]

I have, however, (knock on wood) not had a yeast infection.
