I am on the salt/C protocol, only I use CMC salt tablets available at Walgreens. The idea is to build up your intake slowly until you get to 1 gram of salt and 1 gram of vitamin C for every 10 pounds you weigh. I do herx on it. It is no tq quick fix. Some people get better in 6 months and some people take several years. Seems like that is true with antibiotics, though, as well.

The salt is to kill the bacteria and the vitamin C is to bolster the immunue system. I just had an e-mail conversation today with a doctor who has Lyme. He is giving up on antibiotics and using the salt/C protocol.

Go to Google and type in Yahoo Lyme Strategies and there is a group that uses the salt/C protocol. Also www.lymephotos.com Hiker

I forgot to mention in my earlier reply that anyone who does the salt/C protocol should have their blood pressure monitored and their electrolytes checked regularly. So far my b.p. and electrolytes have remained normal, but just because its salt and vitamin C, doesn't mean it can't have adverse afffects.

Do not use table salt!!! Hiker

Does it help, is it a legitmate treatment? I already use realsalt for cooking. I wouldn't think it could harm you anymore that abx. probable less harmful. Just wondering what kinda results it provided.
I will have to go to that yahoo group.
Thank you for your responses

I have been using the salt C for many months now. But I also have used a biofeed tech who does a lot of my energetic testing. I have only been up to 4 grams each. It does test out as having a good level of effectivness even at this low does for me. But anything over this amount right now creates too much stress in my system I am using it as an ajunct to my ABX treatment. It does put pressure against the bugs. Take a look at Dr Ks lympe protocal. He incorporates the salt C in the begining of his treatment Plan. It can be effective for getting at parasites also. If you are interested in the salt c protocal, read all of the material at the lyme stratagies site. I researched the protocal from their site about 9 months ago before using any of it. I do think it does have its place. My LLMD also is monitoring my use of this.

I have a friend who decided to avoid abx completely since diagnosis and use Salt/C and a little rifing. She seems to be improving, but you need to read the protocol and email comments on the LymeStrategies yahoo board.

You will see that some people herx significantly and for a long period of time - so definitely ramp up slowly on the dosage from what I hear.

hey morningsonshine

Had to stop the salt for stomach issues at the moment.

Plan on going back.

feel it-along with the rife& supps where working.

I would strongly suggest to go slow with this or any other alternative treatment. To see how your body reacts.

take care [Smile]

Yes it is! I did it for 14 weeks along with rife and had some really tough herxes. I stuck it out for 14 weeks but the herxes with both were to much for me. I've been doing real well lately and I feel that even though rife is my favorite treatment, salt/c helped a lot and I wouldn't hesitate to go back if necessary.

All My Best,
Scott
