Specifically, I'm wondering if any of you have been involved in the lauricidan trial conducted by Dr C since December 2005.

Any other experiences with lauricidan also would be welcome.

Thank you.

Yes, Carol. Lauricidin is a lipid containing monolaurin. Dr Jon Kabara is patenting it and believes it is anti-viral and anti-bacterial. Dr C in MO agreed to sign up patients for a trial of it in December.

Dr C's nurses say people who've tried it feel it is helpful, but I'd love to hear from some of the patients themselves.

Dr. C is my doc, and he suggested it to me. Maybe, I should ask him when I visit him in July. I'm checking it out here on this forum, too.

Dr. C is also my doctor. I tried lauricidin without benefit. Maybe I did not give it a long enough chance. However, very little, including the antibiotics, has helped me. Hiker53

I don't know about lauricidan but I take coconut oil. I use it like a food that's also a supplement (I think they call it neutraceutical?)

I haven't had any tests done but it's supposed to work on viruses & other bacteria/funguses. I try to eat a tablespoon every day. I think you can take up to 4 tbs. if you want to.

I just figured it's a good thing to take - like an apple a day. It's not that expensive. I also happen to like the way it tastes.

I posted a thread about coconut oil about a month ago in case anyone is interested.

Lauricidin is different from coconut oil so the two can't be compared.

Anyone else find that lauricidin is beneficial to them?
