Hi,

Thought I would give an update on myself. I feel its important to share symptoms and what is helping others as this is the whole reason we have this forum.

So without further adu! -

I have been on Biaxin which is helping me besides the nasty side effects which I am tolerating. I decided not to opt for the Bicillin and instead LLMD thinks that each time I am doing a little better.

I know that it is cyclic and to early to tell but every menses it gets really bad, however this past cycle was so much better. She decided to add Minocycline to the Biaxin to see if that makes a difference and I am to see her in 4 weeks.

The nice thing is she is very open minded and said that it is up to me since I have been treating over a year if I want to give the venous catheter a green light. Things are looking up and its just a matter of time.

Don't give up each and every one will hopefully find the magic combination. Staying hopefull and looking to the future so I can have my first child.

Hi Nukegirl,

That's great news. [woohoo]

I remember you were considering the Bicillin (which I'm on now), so I'm interested in hearing about the Biaxin. I haven't been on that yet. What kind of side effects are you having - and I'm glad they are tolerable!

You sound like you are on the right track - keep it going!!

Jill

Betty,

Thanks! Half the time I just lay around the house when I get tired from the Lyme.

Jill, the side effects that I get from the Biaxin are nightmares, itching (which could be yeast), metal mouth and last but not least dry mouth... - [dizzy]

I always dreaded every month around my period because it got so much worse.I know things are looking up though. Around that time also my one eye used to get bloodshot like clockwork only on the right side. I have had the unilateral lyme thing since this all started in the latter part of 2004.

I have a question for the females out there....Is anyone taking Ovulex to become pregnant and can you take with antibiotics to prepare you for pregnancy?

Oh, one more question. Does Minocycline make you sensitive to the sunlight? I know it is a cousin of doxy and it is less harsh on the digestive system than doxy or at least so I have heard.

I first started with Doxy and it was horrible! We were on a boat trip and I forgot my hat. I felt like I was being burned at the stake. LOL! Gee, its funny now I can at least laugh about it.

Hey Nukegirl,

Thanks for the heads-up about the nightmares and dry mouth on Biaxin. Gee, I already have those - if I get Biaxin I better be prepared for worsening.

It's funny, I am almost completely symmetrical with Lyme symptoms, but my left eye has been doing the bloodshot thing for weeks.

I was on Doxy, not Mino, but everyone keeps telling me that Mino does not have the same sun sensitivity problem as Doxy - that it's a good choice for summer.

Two years ago when I was on Doxy, I started it in the summer, live in Southern California, and got quite the burn - despite the sunblock, SPF clothing, hat, gloves and the whole "I'm on Doxy" look!

Keep up the good results!
Jill
