I just wanted to run something by all of you..I have been abx free since last September...many of my ld symptoms were neurological including eye pain, light sensitivity, sleep disruption and anxiety..
Although I am feeling pretty good..I still have lingering anxiety problems..I never really had this before ld..Every day I have to deal with some level of anxiety..some days better than others.. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it some kind of signal that I am headed for a relapse?
Any thoughts would be appreciated..

I think that it depends on how you felt just before you stopped abx. Did you still have a little anxiety at that time? If it feels like the anxiety has been creeping back, then it might mean that you are relapsing a little.
If your anxiety level has remained the same throughout, then maybe your anxiety is from being worried about the lyme coming back?
The other thought I have is that there might be some kind of permanent or deep damage to your brain from the lyme that just needs more time to repair.

I'm not sure abx has anything to do with it. Yes, extreme anxiety sometimes, since of dread so bad I seem to be "out of body". I've been off ABX for a decade and still have lyme, pretty bad sometimes too, other times I feel semi-normal, but yes, anxiety is worse than the pain, and all the other crazy symptoms I have

I've been off antibiotics for about eight months. Starting up again soon.
Anyway, I was getting to a point where I thought I might have a chance to return to work. My improvement was feeling that promising.
But since about the four month mark of being off, my depression started to build, and now I'm getting panic attacks from just thinking about the words 'panic attack.' Literally.
Probably Lyme/Babs. Also, pain doc put me on Zonegran in January to try to prevent some of the headaches. Just found out from my primary doc that anxiety can be a common side effect of that med.
