I've been in absentia for a long time. I just had (I HOPE) my last blood test yesterday. Last month I registered zero babs titers and my doc said I only need to show zero one more time and I'm done! I'm fairly confident they will be gone, I feel great. I find out next week for sure but I'm betting it's over.
I hope this post finds everyone well or at least greatly improved. Keep the faith, don't give up. it DOES get better...

clinda ROCKS. TOTALLY rocks. nothing budged 'til I started it, and, once I did, it knocked it down in 2 months flat.
mind you, the other stuff made me FEEL better for sure, it really did - but the numbers didn't move at all. so, same numbers but diminishing symptoms... but once I started clinda WOW did it knock it flat.
I was even on the lowest dose as it really hurt my stomach. I could only handle one pill morning and night - and it still knocked it down.
if you can handle Clindamycin, ask for it...

I have so many ?. How long on Clinda and what dose? In combo w/ anything else?
I have Babs that I have been treating for over 1 year. I tested positive but never had bad symptoms, but every time I try to go off Malarone, it comes back.....
I've added Artemisinin, PC-Noni etc. Also, when I asked my LLMD about how to tell if it had gone, he said there was no definitive way to know, so I'm curious about your titer readings.
Thank you for coming back with your good news. It gives everyone a lift, but especially hope.

I was on Biaxin and Mepron first (with Plaquenil, always Plaquenil. also cytomel for thyroid - low dose). Then we switched to Ketek after 2 months. Ketek was much easier on the tummy.
We switched to Clinda in late fall and I was only on it for a few months - with mepron. once I had my first "zero" she took me off Mepron and Clinda and put me back on ketek by itself. one month later I was slightly elevated again - trace babs showing up.
she decided to stay the course with the ketek only and it apparently did the trick. zero! but of course the clinda gave it a shove.
bear in mind I just had my blood done and when I find out next week there is always a chance that OOPS it's back a little bit but I doubt it - I feel awesome.

I posted this same question somewhere else. I have been treated for babs for 4 years. Three years on Mepron and zithro or biaxin. Did one year on malerone and had a bad reaction to it. For the past six months, I have been on mepron, plaquenil, zithro (justed changed to biaxin again) and cleocin. Then I also have the lyme med. tinidazole on board. I am still not clear of lyme. I had my first neg. FISH test, and I understand that this is the most definitive babs test, just recently. So after four years of soaring titers and positive FISH, I finally got a negative FISH and PCR. But still, if I go off the mepron, here come the night sweats. Oh yes, I am also taking 600 mg artemesia, good quality. Can anyone offer suggestions for this babs thing, or has anyone else taken this long to get rid of it?
