Hello everyone, I'm back. I wrote last week and said about the good news on my MRI.

Well, been taking 2000 mg a day of amoxicillin.

I have half of prescription gone, 28 pills left.

My questions may be stupid, but here it goes....

Can you herx on amoxicillin? My burning is back in my legs, and the facial tingling and now, a new symptom.... facial pain, but not on the same side.

I am so concerned. I felt that maybe since my MRI was normal, then I could just chalk it off as ANXIETY.

I pulled a big clump of hair out yesterday while brushing my hair, that's never happened before.

I normally do, lose a little hair when you brush, but this was a chunk.

My legs are burning just sitting here, pretty bad.

The facial tingling is what awoke me this morning at 4 am.

You guys have been great before at helping me out.

What do you think? Am I crazy? Or is this just a coincidence?

Oh yeah, I've had these feelings for about 6 years.

Headaches for 8.

The ELISA came back negative.

Thank you all!! [bonk]

The dosage for lyme depends on your weight. Usually its 3000 mg to more than that. I was on 4000 mg ( I never woke up to take that 1000 mg at night though)

and yes, oh BOY can you herx on it. I took it for six months and trust me...

It was a godsend. did the most for me than anything else ever did.

I don't know if you are aware but lyme can make your hair fall out.

I was even loosing my eyelashes and eyebrows for awhile - they have grown back now though.

Best wishes

Hi Jenny.

I herxed like a mo-fo on Amoxy at 3000mg per day. Plus Probenecid -- keeps the amoxy in your blood longer. However, it's a pretty nice drug because it's a lot easier on your tummy than some of the other drugs. The burning and tingling you describe are right on.

Now, about that ELISA. Of course it was negative. About half of them are. Who in the world is giving a late Lyme victim an ELISA, fer cryin' out loud? Sounds like a 'duck' is treating you. Because an LLMD would not bother with such a dorky test.

Find yourself an LLMD. Ignore the ELISA - rarely worth the paper it's printed on. Get a Western Blot from IGeneX and a doctor who knows how to read it so you can get better!

Have you tested for co-infections? I have a history of BAD headaches like you. Just found out I have babesia. Getting an LLMD is really key to getting better!

Good luck!

[group hug]

Michelle is right elisa is the most inaccurate of the tests....

A western blot from igenex (sp?) is best

but you can still test negative for lyme and coinfections from igenex and have lyme and co infections.

Best wishes
