Three days ago, I started what I'm told is a low dose pulsing of flagyl. My regimen is one week on, one off. When on, I take 250mg every other day.

Major flare from hell. In bed nearly all day today, head feels like it being churned in a washing machine. Eposides of tight chest. Exhaustion, etc. Another day in funland.

But, in the middle of the worst of it midday today, I looked in the mirror and I had developed a well defined "pustule", a bump filled with fluid (I presume) just below the bottom of my right eyelid. It was not red. It was like my skin, but a little darker. Very squishy.

It developed quickly (wasnt there in the AM) and has slowly dissipated this evening.

Anyone experience anything like this ? Could it be something "coming out"? Part of me wanted to drain it and get it tested.
Thanks!

I haven't had this, but your post made me wonder "What next?"

-sigh-

This illness defies description.
I would have agreed w/you, if you could have gotten someone to drain it and test it, that would have been interesting. I've had so many eye problems w/LD that what you're describing wouldn't surprise me.

Just curious, how long were on abx before starting Flagyl?

Don't know what to make of this, but you may need to lower Flagyl dose even more if herxes do not improve. Hubby takes 1/4 tablet (62.5 mg) and sometimes sneaks in double that dose. Does this for 4 or 5 days in a row and that is about all he can do at a time.

Hang in there.

Patty,

To answer you question, I was on abx for 12 months before starting flagyl, last week.

Thanks

Could it be a stye? Dont pop it! Have it checked out, it may be unrelated. Let us know what you find out. Flagyl can cause powerful herxing, but that is a good sign. I always took the full dose of Flagyl, and glad I did! Hang in there!
