I have this weird symptom that I am noticing more as the New Jersey humidity is rolling in.
My skin gets very red in certain spots. I had posted a while ago about my toes becoming red upon exertion and got a lot of responses, but it seems to be happening to my hands too.
I have fixed raised red patches on my fingers, very subtle by my knuckles. Had them looked at by a derm, along with my slight butterfly blushing, and she said, not consistent with lupus. I am still waiting for lyme results and am in lyme/lupus limbo.
Can lyme cause these patches of red? My armpits seem to be discolored as well, around where I shave, like a red-brownish, no pain or itching. I suppose the heat may be causing this.
I know the skin's job is to release toxins so skin problems can be common with lyme. I just get weird red patches, like one will appear on my hand and then go away minutes later.
My hands are REALLY shaky too, especially when having green tea, which contains caffeine. i have a slight tremor in my left middle finger if i hold my hand out. i could feel the pulsating of blood in my hands.. everything is just so hypersensitive lately. i just do not know anymore.

Hubby has lots of redness issues on his face....can always tell when a herx type reaction is coming on for him.
Dr. C said this was because lyme was a skin disease, so these type reactions were "normal". (if anything about Lyme is normal)

Prior to my Lyme diagnosis and treatment, I was always flushed...to the point that it was pretty uncomfortable.
Oddly, this was one of the first symptoms to vanish once I started taking antibiotics.

I just turned around a severe case of rosacea caused by Lyme & Co. It needed a combination of the mildest facial cleanser possible, a special night moisturizer for repairing the skin barrier, and a near-100% UVA/UVB sunblock.
I also have had the spooky tremors and hand seizure, and so far, the culprit has been babesia. But plain, old, unexotic dehydration and vitamin deficiency played a role, too. You probably know this by heart, but Vitamin A, Omega-3s, and evening primrose oil can help with skin repair.
